i bought my fluro's from my local electrician $40 for double 40 watts and then got a local sheetmetal worker to cut the reflectors down so they could fit under the hood real cheap

i some times find little fish in my sump purely because i have left the filter off the over flow and they get sucked down the plug hole into the sump

last week i bought 5 huge twisted val plants and planted them this week i have 3 left the fish have scoffed them all :roll:

my sump has got filter wool bio balls heater and pump in it

i have heard alot about activated carbon in fish tanks if i get a bag say the same as you get in the aqua clear filter kits and put it in my sump what will be the effect ?

i actually was thinking of getting some guys together and opening a shop for marines as people in auckland are getting into fish in a big way hollywood have some but i am more impressed with jansens setup in Mt eden the potenial is there

hey if its going in some were nice well you need to powder coat it there must be heaps of places in welly that do that and it hides a miriade of sins and looks great and you can get alsorts of colours and finishes i got mine done in a crazy black easy to clean and dont show any dust

depends on what you want i made my own out of erw square tube (cheap) and welded it up and got it powdercoated

new plants what does anybody suggest for my tank as far as plants go ?

went to hollywood to check on sae's and they had some there that someone had sold back to them but alot bigger $12.50ea

go to your local plumbing trade store mico are to dear and the local hardware dont have what u usually want

yes im on my second bottle of flourish exel did the job good but exspensive

well i think you guys are doing a damn good job of your tanks if mine comes out 1/2 as good i will be pleased
