  1. iliwis said its taken out 17, it took out my entire african tank (15ish fish?) sophias had an entire species taken out too disgustipated has has 5 or 6 now?? can you count more accurately than me? and i can't remember off the top of my head numbers for others. Its a significant amount of fish, and if i was suppling fish as part of a small business i sure as hell would want to know of the possibility of fish TB (as was suggested by sophia)
  2. Brett2003 #!chrunchbang Sophia Disgustipated ilwis samH have all had issues here. we are all in different areas of the shore, and are all buying our his from pretty much the same 3 shops. we are in areas that are supplied with different sources of water - and apart from disgustipated and i - have never shared fish - and even then it was the fish - not the fish water. Disgustipated and i have purchased hybrids from another member all of whom were one if the first to die. im not sure how you can suggest that it could be mis-magagment? we are all experienced fish keepers, or tanks are appropriate to bio load, do regular water changes and provide suitable filtration and aeration - and all water quality tests are within normal peramaters. edited to add to list
  3. Neither do i. I think we are pretty much being told here (by other members that i can't be bothered quoting too) that we are inept fish keepers, ad being told not to discuss the possibility of links with businesses or other forum members. :dunno:
  4. that pic is a fake. Nostradamus was born in 1503, and there is no record of him ever writing anything close to this quote.
  5. my issues started around then too. i added some electric yellows to the tank around that time too
  6. no, you are right on that. but given that one supplies of all of our various species of fish down to the egg etc would be suppling so many other stores/ares in NZ it would be a much more wide spread problem. i had a tank of various ages. some over a year, others a few months old. disgustipated has had 5? maybe 6? now die of the similar thing, and there are how man others now with the same issue in on the shore/auckland? there must be some link between us all, that is higher up than the eggs of the fish dying
  7. i think its more likely to be some sort of long acting decease or parasite or something for us all to be suddenly be getting very similar fish deaths, effecting an entire tank. we are all local to each other - the only thing that we are sharing is a supply of fish...
  8. but for an entire tank of africans all taken out over a 2-3 month period in a well established tank set up for over a year with no issues?? thats not just some fish dying randomly.
  9. italics sounds way worse than you meant it lol. yep - seems to be a lot of us experiencing the same thing. i wonder if a discussion and digging at hff would uncover anything similar with their stock.
  10. I was in greenhithe when having the issue - i don't think they are in the same water supply area? anyone have a map of that?
  11. like that simpsons episode where krusty the clown fakes his own death and buys a boat to work ok - when bart descoveres him he jumps off the boat and swims, washing away the yellow makeup.
  12. yep - I've got all my fish from hff albany, and a member off here for the hybrids. the oscar that may have started it was from aqua world.
  13. i wonder as a lot of us are north shore/auckland if we have purchased fish from the same shop/person and there is something slow acting taking them all out?
  14. tanks don't share water supply or equipment - so its not poisining for us. fish would be fine, then id notice one with activity level dropping off, then within a matter of hours it would be dead. Im talking like 1-3 hours. some of them looked like their scales had all fallen off - others looked perfect, just dead. some just turned up dead with no pre warnings.
  15. is it exoxy that is toxic then? I'm another that just uses the thread and tie method, way easier and no worries about toxicity etc - plus i can't get my head around the roots just being glued on - can't imagine its easy for them to grow being stuck.
