I have the 2080 and I don't think its that good as a filter Its great for holding as huge amount of media and it is really quiet but i dont think it cleans water that well. Parts are expensive and its made from really hard plastic which to me is very brittle (I have snapped bits off) I have just bought the Fx5 to replace it and my water is now clear In my opinion If you are looking at spending that kind of cash then grab the fx5

Cool, are you not worried about the wood rotting? Its does look very cool though

The new spots this morning are about 2 mm in length No one else in the tank seems infected as yet I have just seen my gourami give him a nip on one of the spots and it vanished! the spot not the fish so if not whitespot Another form of protozoa? or a bad case of acne?

I didn't even consider this was white spot as these spots are on the large side

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/401/1006085.jpg/ I noticed at the weekend my Angel fish had what looks like large white spots One of those spots became elongated and then disappeared I have dosed with Meth blue (its all i had at the time) And on Monday dosed the tank with droncit (50mg to 50 liters) to try and stop the spread (if its a fluke/worm) Yesterday he looked better but today he has 3 more spots on the right side of his head He is eating well and not acting at all strange What should i do now? Up the temp? Add salt? Can some one please confirm my thoughts or put me on the right track Cheers

Cool thanks I was thinking about a battery powered air pump I have 2 canister filters a ehiem 2080 and a via aqua something or other I was thinking about running a converter off of a car battery but i have no knowledge of how long it would last

Hi peeps, I have a 8 hour power cut coming up in the next couple of weeks Is there anything i can do to help save the bacteria in the filters? Any Ideas please Cheers Glen

I have the 2080 all I can say is what a pos Doesnt shift that much water and cant cope with my tank, had to install another filter to cope Really wish i had bought Fluval Not Ehiem love
