  14. Hi guys, got a question or two so over the last few days i had noticed my 2 large angel fish cleaning the filter intake pipe, well today one of them laid eggs all over it. the over one did its thing over the eggs. clumsy guy however, knocked a few off, but teh other one picked them up and moved them about. so, as they have laid on the filter intake pipe, im worried about them falling off then getting sucked in the filter, if i put a mesh on the filter head it would help, however, i dont want to disturb/upset the mum and dad as i will have to get real close. will this be an issue? i have put an upside down pot in the other side of the tank, but im not sure they will be wanting to move them, will wait and see? they are in a community tank, so im not sure if the eggs will last long, but can always hope, the mum and dad have been very protective so far. if they do make it and hatch, what the best thing to feed them, do you put anything in the tank for the eggs to feed on? little lost in this area. quick pic, at teh bottom of that pipe the filter intake head is at a 90 degree pointing towards the camera :nilly: angel-eggs by smurff900, on Flickr any help would be awesome or some links for more reading would be also awesome Cheers all Smurff

    Hi all :D

gudday all, had a account here for a while, stumbled upon the site but didnt get into it. meet a few people recently who said i should register here so came along and remembered that i already had in the past. have been keeping fish for a short time now, about 18months. started out with gold fish in a 20L tank, then we wanted to go tropical, got a 60L tank, heated the goldfish up and had tropical gold fish with some angel fish and has moved on from there. now we have a 180L tank ( animates aqua fun day for the win ), given away the gold fish, have 6 angels, 10 penguin tetras, purple Siamese fighter, 4 ruby barbs , 6 clown loaches and a lonely sword tail ( his girlfriends died during and just after giving us 30 odd babys ) oh and a orange bottom feeder. was planning to sell the 60L tank but dad asked if he could have it in the lounge, so got about re-setting it up, and have just picked up some neons and tetra serpae for it. will be spending the next few days getting used to the layout here and learning what i can. have some questions about water testing, but maybe one step at a time also into photography and cars, so some of you may have seen me else were, i use the same name -Smurff

    The What's Up? thread.

hey guys, new to the forum, finding it a bit hard to find my way around, but its busy in here, so if you guys could point me in the right direction ? picked up the big 180L tank that was on special at the animates aqua fun day a month ago in botany, our fish have settled well, got 4 silver and black angel fish from a good chap in howick 2 week ago and they have mixed really will with the two gold ones we have. now im wondering about water testing, i have a PH kit and have thought about getting one of those big kits with all the different things in it. . . is it worth it, or buy them separately or is there stuff i dont need or do but isnt in the big kit. kinda lost and had a hard time finding any info. my fish have done fine for the last year with me doing water changes and PH checks, but think i should be steeping up with the bigger tank. a point in the right direction is super appreciated guys!!!
