  1. Sorry to hear about this Good luck with the treatment, hope you win the battle!
  2. This thread did remind of DB in our own backyard... fancy trademarking "Radler".... fancy our freaking legal system allowing it to happen! I too boycott DB products as a way of protesting with my wallet.
  3. Really Monster Beverage Company? Really? Go Monster Fish Keepers! Go! *goes and signs petition*
  4. mmmmmm, thought provoking. :smln: Thanks for sharing Stella
  5. And the one above only has one eye... must make you freak out even more :rotf: Awesome photos Joe you have a good eye for it, thanks for sharing!
  6. Awesome update. Koura in Berry.... juvi koura must be pretty cool to see charging around the place Will be interesting to see how it goes :spop:
  7. Awesome. Thanks for that Stella. So my cray is no where near 8cms when looking at how you measure them in that diagram... I'd better get my ruler out and measure them both up again. In answer to your question Stella, I thought I might start to track frequency of moults, and amount of growth between each moult... I've also got the two crays in seperate tanks at the moment, smaller one is regrowing a Chelae (there is a little nub showing now) and I was interested to see how that impacts on moults and growth as well. Cheers.
  8. Congrats! :happy1: Hopefully they good parents and you end up with some new fish. Looking forward to the updates :cofn: :gigl:
  9. As the title suggests I am trying to work out the actual length of my Koura... How do you measure them? There is so many spiky bits it is hard to know... my assumption is measuring them from the fork of the tail (which is folded over most of the time) to the tip of their head? That would make my big guy almost 8 or 9 cms... depending on tail fold. Or do you only measure up to their eyes or something random like that? Cheers.
  10. Very nice set up there, and nice photos Thanks for sharing.
  11. Agreed! Screenshot or it didn't happen
  12. Awesome thread.... really like what you are doing here... I'll be keeping an eye on this one Keep up the awesome work!

    The What's Up? thread.

Skink just ran down the length of the office... bunch of staff were screaming... really freaked them out when I picked it up and deposited it in the outside garden... It's just a tiny lizard why do people freak out? Maybe I should have let them get a closer look :gigl: :gigl: Took a photo on phone... for some reason it didn't save.
  14. Awesome work... I'm impressed. Also love the fact you have lotsa bullies chilling out in that stream. Keep up the great work!
  15. Hone has moulted again... I know it was him because they are seperated now, which means it must have been Billy that moulted before and thats when he got attacked by Hone and lost his Chelae. Hone has gone much much darker since the moult, so perhaps I was noticing the new colourations comping through before he actually moulted? Billy is still sitting in his hospital tank, I have got some photos on the camera, and will get round to uploading and keeping a bit of a log on a spereate thread shorlty so you can all see the regrow happening, as it isn't something that you see everyday and I figure some of you on here might be interested. With the bit of rain that happened over the weekend worms are much easier to find in the garden, so the boys have been enjoying wriggling worms over the last few days. I have been considering my options moving forward, as Billy isn't going to stay small forever, so I'm looking into some options: a) replacing the current tank with a 4footer (I measured the space the other day and it would fit perfectly) b) mounting TV on wall, buying another tank and running two decent sized tanks in the lounge c) getting rid of tropical tank altogether and setting Billy up in there d) myriad of other options that run through my head everyday Obviously depending on which option I go for will alter what I get next in terms of upping stocking levels on tanks etc. Cheers.
  16. I chose to ignore that word on purpose I can't talk though... I promised a log with photos of Billy T Cray regrowing his Chelae that got eaten off the other week... still haven't got round to doing it. And blueether... I looked at your photos again on my home computer.... and the image looks like reflections, whereas my work winterm makes it look like dried water streaks on the lense.

    The What's Up? thread.

I bet it is more annoying for the 111 call centre staff... having to work out whether all these random calls are actually emergencies or not  My money is on the frog vs the cat
  18. :nfs: Thanks for sharing. Good sized fish there. You get some water on your lense or something? That second shot looks like it has streaks on it... unless you had that camera under the water at some stage?
  19. Just watched your video, the rock placement game is fun huh I took aaaages playing around with mine until I got them looking good. I like the variation in colour and sizes you got going there, good looking tank. I would agree with Stella though... any native aquatic organism will be out of that tank in no time... one of my Koura hit the escape proof mesh lid I have on my tank the other day just through flicking its tail a couple of times and the tank is 45cms high.
  20. I think there is something in your chilly bin... I'd be careful opening that, you might lose a digit!
