  2. theres a bit of PMS going on in my tank at the moment, theres a few tarty girls having a right go at my lovely males long tails! &c:ry the boys have obviously said something wrong as they are starting to look like crown tails! they have been fed 3 times today but insist on nipping, anything i can do to stop it? :an!gry TIA
  3. ooo i hope not albinomike! considering i just got 3 off you (which are just stunning by the way)
  4. the male is lovely! i have just got 3 albino guppies (swapped my albino angels for them) i excited for fry from them, my whole tank is full to the brim of java moss so hopefully if anyone drops any fry they dont get eaten!!
  5. i have brought her inside, and the lady i got her off had her in around 25deg so ill just see how she goes i guess and not feed her till she eats the peas? thanks for all the help
  6. definately not dropsy, no scales protruding anywhere, fish looks normal except for it swimming. i have seen it poo a tiny bit? about half a cm
  7. i have just reseached the salt baths and tried it, i also just tried the pea trick and its not having a bar of it! so ill withold all food till it eats it. its very fat so could be constipated
  8. i have just got given a sick oranda, it was going to get the chop &c:ry so i said id take it and give it a go first. it appears to have swim bladder? hardly swimming and if it does very uncontrolled, laying on its side most of the time. the lady said she has tried peas and its done nothing. is it swim bladder? what else can i do to treat it? is it something else? do fish live if they get it or am i wasting my time?
  9. anybody know any oranda breeders? i am needed to restock my pond so am looking for some reasonable priced ones cheers
  10. i dont currently have any access to any live food at the moment , might put a wtb thread. but he freaks out if i go anywhere near them? when i lift the lid anything? im to scared to do a water change beause he was in a mad panic and sent them flying! nearly sucked some up
  11. i have left angelfish fry with thier dad, they are now 8 nearly 9 days old. i have only got liquid fry food and whenever i drop some near them (they clinging to the glass) dad freaks out and they all go flying of the glass with the current made from him  , then he gets them all and moves them somewhere else. ive never done this before and dont want them to starve how do you do it? live bearers are so much easier!!! :nilly:
  12. i have a deformed angel, she looks like those balloon platys and mollys, shes reaaaal short in the body and she bred 3 times already, i havent raised any fry till now so will be interesting to see what they turn out like. :dunno: could start my own balloon angel collection lol
  13. awesome, ill leave him to this batch and ill continue to raise the first batch, gosh im going to be over run with the little things
  14. my angelfish bred again not even two weeks after the first lot, the first lot got removed as eggs and are now in their own tank and currently just over two weeks old, but the second lot were layed on the glass and are still in the tank, the female started eating them and the male has kept all of them away so the first day i put a divider into the tank with just the male with the eggs and all the others on the otherside, they are now 3-4 days old and he has got them to the wriggling stage, he is still watching them and is making no attempt to eat them, can he do it by himself or should i syphon them out??? thanks
  15. hmmm they seem to be doing ok on the liquid fry food although it never really lands near them  , they are all free swimming now and going against the current of the bubbles. i think ill just keep them on the liquid food till they are much bigger :dunno:
  16. babies are coming up two weeks and going strong (and very cute!) how long till they are not so delicate?
  17. these are my first babies to hatch from eggs other than goldfish :happy2: , they are angelfish and were layed 6 days ago, so at the moment they have their egg sacs and are wiggling away. they were taken off the parents as they are useless so im not really sure what to do. i realise alot wont survive as i only have liquid fry food for them not live. is there anything i should be doing? from today on i will be doing daily water changes of about 20%. they were layed on the filter so i transfered that to another tank on day 1 and half of the batch are still clinging to it even though there are "mouldy/furry" unfertilized eggs on it. is this ok? :dunno: the rest are on the ground. i dont really know what im doing so these little guys unfortunately are my "guinea pigs"
  18. yeah or put a cover over the pond, anything as long as they live!
  19. it was terrential rain, i will know better for next time
  20. thats what i thought because i know with tropicals , too big of a water change and the tank goes cloudy and they gasp. it really sucks my best breeding males,(the one in my picture, is one of them)
  21. i have large orandas in a pond who have all been living very hapily breeding etc for the last 6 or so months, we have just had that intense rain and the pond over flowed and the pool etc, i have just checked on them and the water was cloudy and two fish were dead (my largest ones ) and the rest were gasping. i have put the hose in and the others are better now. they havent been fed for a few days and i never over fed them. i dont understand why they have died, they were fine before the rain. any ideas?
