Hello, I joined this forum a while ago (note join date ) decided I should make a thread here! Well, I decided one day I wanted to get a fish tank, and.. since then I've expanded quite a bit! My dad got hooked into it shortly after I did  Within the first month we had a small tank each and a joint 90L tank. I'm always looking for the oddball fish which is a bit hard when you lack major funds and live in Nelson, I'm sure fellow Nelsonians can agree on our dismal LFS interesting fish suppliers. :-? Currently my Dad and I have 7 tanks up and running and 2 incoginto at this time, but we'll probably be back up to 9 in no time, and soon after hit 10. Can be interesting living in a 1 bedroom flat where the lounge is my room  needless to say we're a bit tight on space but do very well with the space we have Tanks at the moment are; Mine 35L - 2 Dwarf Puffer, 2 Bumblebee Gobbies.\ 100L - Heavily Planted - 5 Featherfin Rainbows, 2 Bristlenose, 2 Featherfin Syno Cats, 2 Albino Cory, 3 Glass Catfish and 1 Pakistani Loach. Joint 18L - >100 mystery blue snails, most of which are 90L Community - Many Fish, lol.. Some Inc; Neons, Boliv. Rams, Forktailed Rainbows, Wild Kribs, Baby Dolphin Cichlids, 4 large mystery blue snails, cories, few bristles, 4 angels with some sort of swim bladder disorder D: and more I'm sure  224L Community - Hmm, let's see..A.. Silver Shark, Royal Columbian Whiptail, Pictus Cat, Banjo Cat, 4 Fairy Cichlids, 2 Electric Yellows, Julie Cory, 1 very fast growing redspot pleco, probably more that I can't remember atm! My dad's 100L - Chichlid Tank. Mainly africans, with haps, albino snow white zombies, the bull of the two who rules the tank , ruby reds, demos, 2 Jack dempsey, Ice blues, cobalts, red empress's, Aroura (sp), And.. I think that's it, I might have missed some 18L - Fancy guppys! about a dozen of 'em, give or take a few. 30L - Holding tank, waiting for shellies. Will upgrade to 84L once it's made So that's about it I guess, we've been in the "game" for around 4-5 months now I think. I'm loving the hobby! Hoping to get a puffer species tank and/or a native marine tank set up next, myself. Thanks for reading!
  9. They are pretty nifty  Damn docile things too
  10. Oh wow that's great to know
  11. Yeah sounds normal Won't go putting a school of snapper or something ridiculous in there
  12. Haha yeah I saw that one too gave the guy a -.^ look You shoulda told us you were coming into town, coulda shown you our tanks
  13. Was just wondering if I'd need to do water changes more often than I would for a freshwater tank, which is like 25% weekly, that's all
  14. How much percent did you need to change, and how often?
  15. I paid 30 for each of those fish
  16. Not surprised they miss-labeled it, lmao. But yeah I'm still happy with the Pakistani Loach The prices however, were less pleasing!
  17. Really? lol that's fine, any kind of loach that isn't kuhli/clown is a bonus for me
  18. Banjo cat and Zebra Loach Kinda unusual for a store in nelson, lol.
  19. It seems all the Nelson fish stores are drying up, especially the one in town.. They don't even have stress coat at the moment, and half of their tanks are empty x.x Meanwhile the Richmond store only ever orders in gourami/guppy/angels/etc. Really disappointing especially considering there seems to be a ton of fishkeepers in Nelson!
  20. Pet mart has some fake corals, basic marine lighting and marine salts. Oh and one pre-made aqua one marine tank for $2,000 I hasn't seen any marine stuff at Petz'nall (if we're talking about the same store) apart from their 2 marine display tanks, but I could be wrong. I could try asking about parts being ordered in if the need arises, though i've had bad responses to that in the past..
  21. What kind of filter/media did you use? What about inside the tank? Just collected rocks or did you use liverock?
  22. I don't know I was thinking maybe the substrate was disturbed when you added plants and decoration and it clouded up the water since a fully cycled tank shouldn't be clouding up all of a sudden. How did you cycle it? How many fish did you add at once after you cycled it? Have you tested the water?
  23. Can you add more information about the tank? Substrate, filtering, size, etc
