  1. OOh that sounds bad. They were in a tank together at the time, and the guy said NOOOOOTHIIIING about any of that, he said they will live happily in a tank of my size for ever, and this guy seems like he knows what hes talking about. Anyway they been fine together so far. I will keep you guys updated on this thread of my tank, so subscribe or whatever if you can do that, and yeah ill keep you guys posted. Im starting to feel like a idiot and i just impulse bought these fish without knowing anything about them. I was planning on e yellows but the tank too small so the guy said to buy these, so i bought them and didnt do any research on shell dwellers or anything.
  2. Yup thats them. Ok thanks. They look real cute!!! I got a free shell from the shop as i was planning on buying electric yellows and the guy swayed me as my tank was too small so i got shellies, and i didnt have shells for them but i got 1 little ocellatus and hes sooo CUTE!!! And he hides in the shell i got for free!!
  3. What to feed lemon cichlids and shell dwellers? I bought 2 lemon cichlids and a little shell dweller not sure what it was called it had a really weird and long name, and dumbly enough forgot to ask about food. Do they eat normal flakes? I know they eat lotsa veggies etc so ill give em lettuce and cucumber and things, but do they take normal flakes? What about frozen brine shrimp/mysis shrimp/blood worms. Any frozen? All frozen? What do they eat? Thanks
  4. Lol thats funny. Yeah ill think about it. see whats best, it is after sort of my parents choice seen as it could be my birthday present. Yay for 14 lol. Thanks
  5. Mmm, bit too big, looking for just 20-30 litres, dont really have the room for much more. And i wanted a glass tank too, not plastic. Not sure on how much im spending. HFF sell them for $90 which come with lights and filter and everything, just not sure if its glass or plastic.
  6. Hmm sound good. ill send a pm if i get the tank for my birthday (if i dont ill just buy it myself lol) and once i get it up and running ill tell you and you can send me some pictures of what you have got. Thanks
  7. Hi Sam, yeah but the fancy ones are soooo COOL! Seen her auctions on TM and theres some awesome ones. I think ill get one from her. Some plakats are cool i agree, but i still prefer big crowntails and half moons to short tails. Will think about the ottos.
  8. So my birthdays coming up, and since my last fighter fish died of fungal disease (ill explain below) iv been dying to start a new fighter only tank, maybe with snails or something. Im wishing for a little 20 litre setup with all the bits n bobs n gear, but what tankmates do you guys think i can get? Small fish which dont cost much $ and wont bully my fighter, or maybe snails or something. Let me know what you think. Ok my last fighter was black and red crowntail. About a year old when he died. He was in an 86 litre tank with baby angelfish and gouramis, was going reasonably fine. Then i went away for 3 days and when i came back he had some white fluffy fungus on his head near his gills, and he was like that for a week. I quarentined him in a cut open 1.5L coke bottle, inside the tank so he kept warm but no water got through. I went and bought lots of special medicines and salt, but a few days after he died. I couldnt save him. poor bugger. anyway now im wanting a new tank especially dedicated to 1 lucky boy which i will take extreme care for. Questions, comments, advice, come forth, shoot, thanks for reading and advising. :bounce:
  9. 14,000k is quite a while off. Most plants i heard like 7000
  10. I also agree, but the white ones i dont believe are as effective either. You can use the same fitting for the marine light just get different 'K' bulbs and your plants will be good.
  11. Im confused. Whos adodge? I see "Adrienne" not Adodge???
  12. I was confused from the very start. Ill see what i can do.. Otherwise somebody gotta come to my house and help me do it. Sounds very complicated. I dont get how to not OD the tank on a diy one if you cant time it.
  13. Thanks i will see what i can do. What about this timer and stuff. Definitly still need a timer for DIY?
  14. What??? This topic is info for me. What do i do.

  17. i dont like ebay. im not paying $3000 to get something shipped
  18. Ok as you can see i want to install a c02 kit for my plants. What i want to know is well, what do i do. How do i use it? If i keep it constantly on will i nuke the tank, how do i make sure i dont overdose the tank. the tank is 250l btw. Im planning on just getting some standard 1 from hollywood or animates if they got them. So anything and everything you guys know about c02 i love you for it. Thanks in advance. Specially to phoenix44 because he is ALWAYS the first 1 to post on my threads no matter the topic or section. lol.
