Hi, have been reading up on these guys on various web sites and they all say mixed things so asking for others opinions/feedback. Do they eat small fish/fry? I have one which is about 10cm now, just not sure if I can put small fish in with it and if it would eat them (or any fish/fry etc). Cheers

thanks for that, yea i am not looking for heaps to survive as such so not gonna go set up another tank or anything, happy to just see how many survive, just didnt think it would be 10 when they started with 200

Hoping others can help me as I have heard that breeding Convicts is easy. I have a pair of Convicts, they bred, had about 200 babies swimming round, also had a yellow and green severum in the tank. They eventually killed the yellow severum, and the green has disappeared so maybe they got that too. The babies are a few months old now and there is only like 10 left - what has happened to the rest? I have just let them be so have not interfered by taking any out or anything. They have now laid another lot of eggs and they are starting to hatch tonight. Will they try kill the remaining 10 from the last lot of fry to protect the new lot? Do I need to do anything? I am not really into setting up another tank as I was not intending on breeding them, they just went ahead and did it.

hmmmmm omg so some people say yes some say no haha i moved thme anyway to another tank that has convict babies but the babies seem fine so maybe the puffer just got too inquisitive???

1 crack was like 0.5cm, other was 1cm, then there was like a 5cm crack

Hi all So I just got 3 little dwarf puffers a few days ago, they are quite small fish to be honest, like the size of a small guppy Today I got some Blue Mystery snails, about the size of a 50 cent piece, and 2 hours after putting the snails in the tank, i was looking for the fish and 1 was missing, i ended up seeing the tail of the fish sticking out one of the snails - i had to grab the snail and break a bit of the shell to get the fish out i dont know if the fish will survive it is in shock now i think i have never heard of snails eating fish, the snail was upside down so i guess the only thing i can think of is the fish was being inquisitive and went into the part of snail that was open and then the snail retracted or something and it got stuck??? i was in shock myself never seeing or hearing of this before... anyone heard of this b4??? ive googled mystery snails and only read that they will eat dead fish not live...

ok so nah no patching, it doesnt stick to my fingers just doesnt feel soft still feels a bit sticky, no idea why???

yea it does not actually stick to my finger it just feels sticky i guess, i danno what u mean did i patch it? i just cleaned the tank, waited for it to dry then smeared the stuff on it basically... danno what brand it was but it had been used for tanks b4

who keeps them?

Hey guys, had a few cracks in a tank I got, had some glass sealant that was for tanks, used it, but how long does it take to dry? I thought 24 hours but its been like 5 days and it still feels sticky when i touch it. nothing comes off it just feels a little sticky. any ideas? i wanna set the tank up but dont want something wrong to happen

tanks 270L, they are the only fish besides a few catfish that stick to themselves... danno what sexes they are??? should i take one out or just let them be? will they fight to the death?

anyone have severums?

Hi Guys, need some advice with my Serverums. I have a green one and a yellow one. Had them about 2 months now. The yellow was a little bit bigger than the green when i got them but now is groing heaps faster. Yellow is now about 8cm long while green is about 5cm. The yellow one always hassles the green one, nipping at his/her fins and tail, ripping little bits off. There is a syno and also bristlenose in the tank which the yellow one is not interested in - just the green severum. What to do? I am not willing to set up another tank, maybe I need to get rid of 1?

nah green one aint picking on it, green one smaller and omg it came out today for a few hours!!! yuss!

Hey all, so a week ago I got a green severum and a yellow one - from diff pet shops. they both bout 6cm or so. Yellow one is real scared, it was at the shop but the lady told me it had just come in the day before and it will settle down. well it hasnt yet, hides in this bell thing hardly ever comes out. what do i do???

thinking of kissing gouramis now, or maybe a white albino cichlid that i saw at animates???
