  1. wellllllll......... ummmmmmmmmmm..... I decide to add a 1 into my name, and write it in capitals P44 I can't imagine you as the hardcore gamer lol
  2. Have your spotty ancistrus grown any more??? if it is the one I'm looking at in the 1/3rd pic lol
  3. Depending on who you are talking to people reccomend that you have 1 discus to every 40-60L of water, and you have more than 3, or a pair, more discus also means more work (W/C's ect) If I were you I would leave it with the two discus if they are happy If they want some kind of plants we will need to know about the lighting/substrate first good/easy plants are are things like anubias, most crypts, java/willow moss, java ferns and quite a few stem plants Fish wise, larger single species schools of things like tetras/rasboras look good, Cardinals would be a good option for the higher tempratures of the discus and then a few bottom dwellers: BN's/plecos, corys, and loaches would be some options and as SamH always says: HTH
  4. Those are some awesome leaves how long are the approximately?
  5. Oak leaves, I have a plastic bag full of them , I will stick them in after the crypts have grown in a bit more though
  6. FTS The awesome bits of wood now all I need is a khuli loach sitting on there and I get an awesome pic and the rock barrier with H. polysperma One thing I have changed is the filter, the cansiter broke (after 10 years of life  ) so i'm now using a ehiem HOB filter that came from a closing down pet shop the tank also looks pink because I need a 6500k bulb instead of two pink ones... hehe I don't think I will be sticking Khuli loaches in there for a while, seeing as the sand is so light and I don't want to be replanting all the crypts every day......
  7. Aweosme! , although the 2nd one would of looked better with discus
  8. I got mine for somewhere around $85 (I think) HTH
  9. that stuff definitely isn't shiny samples are O-sum for the amount it kind of depends on the dimensions of your tank, and how deep you want it just work out the amount you need in litres, then times by 1.7(to get kgs) I need 24L to get a 4cm layer over a 5ft tank x by 1.7, and I need 40kgs HTH
  10. You need to change your sig now those killies look awesome btw, I also want/(would like) to see pics of these red whiptails :bounce: :bounce:
  11. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=258682045 is it anything like that? I got a sample of it (and am now getting more), of it and it is a nice black colour underwater, and not shiny like the black silica aqua one stuff
  12. theres some at wonderworld in rotorua (they usually have some) not sure whether they are tropical ones or not...
  13. Shes a delta/single tail, the smaller one of the two I got off david-lw well it's not a fighter.....
  14. That is awesome , I think there should be some kind of crab/crustcean on the bottom though :bounce:
  15. Are you removing all the eggs that are fungusing? that should help, as well as the meth blue
  16. my only decent pic of any of mine... lol and its a girl that is sad about those yellow ones Adodge  am I allowed to post a pic of a honey gouami?? lol
  17. This is where I am at so far Its a 60x30x50(H) tank which is kind of the wrong shape for a biotope like this but Substrate: A mix of sand, daltons(imagine it's mud...) and leaf litter as a plant layer then a layer of sand over top. Filteration: EDIT:the other filter was leaking, so I have now got a Ehiem 2042 HOB filter rated at 760LPH, creates lots of surface flow Lighting: 2x 15w T8 bulbs Heater: 100w aquaone thing Fauna/Flora: Behind the rock barrier there will be H. polysperma, then Crypt Wendtii on/ surrounding the hill on the right and a misc crypt planted everywhere else (hopefully it is a smaller variety) I also plant to stick a few peices of wood in/ around that crypt with a bit of leaf litter I will then be stocking it with around 11 zebra danios as dither fish and 7 khuli loaches
  18. I got 3/4 baby ones... I was just after some bigger ones I have been scaping my tank with a hill for them to grow in/on...
  19. they get tons of other ones, and usually have lots of wendetii that diddn't melt on me so I'm guessing it was grown submersed for a while but none when I wanted some more
  20. well you would have to get in line!!! lol The guy at the pet shop said there was none on his import list , I wanted a few bigger ones so i can do this biotope I'm doing
  21. lolol, I think you should use my idea , A fully planted african tank EDIT: W/o your E yellows
  22. what about something with the scape situated more on one side? http://fishandpics.com/images/planted/scape080809.jpg would be simpler to do and means not as much work trimming keeping it looking nice ect
  23. for the 3footer, slope the sand up to a back corner then stick some stem pants (red for contrast) of some description there then something like dwarf sag in front of it then get a nice piece of DW that you like and place in opposite the plants then stick the bubbler behind it for a nice effect
  24. the zappers are awesome!!!! *runs to find it to zap something....*
