baby beardies need alot of live food. and tortises can swim from my knowlege and they get much bigger and live longer tortises arn't equiped to swim no webed feet. If you ask me i would go for a blue tongue skink waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than a beardie and less $

Bubbles and squeek pet shop told me some vets can do some ultrasound thing to see what gender they are :-? I don't think that would work though

That is a d.o.c care guide for our natives on the nzhs they say you can use treated would but just paint it with a non toxic paint. they also do that ini the states to. Douglas fir i would say as the best bet but it must be anoying to work with.

Well maybe start off with a smaller tank at first so you know that it is getting all its food and water or just get a big tank that will last it for life and put a divider in it= less $. But i don't keep beardies myself but from the care sheets i have read etc they say start small first.

I find those reptile one turtle tank terrible even the bigger ones! the filter is just poor and the basking platform is a little small and is at the half way mark of the tank so that means you can't even have the water level that high as there would be a risk of them getting trapped under it and drowning if the basking platform was completely submerged in order to make the water level high enough for the turtle. lol i find it funny though pet shops tell me all these thing that turtle need and shouldnt be done with them and then i look at their tank and think, "they can't even follow their on advice" :lol: and i thought animates was actually quite a good pet shop until when i was looking in the revees hatchling setup to find that the uv light had plastic underneath it

Yes mathew alot of national zoos have tuatara. well not heaps but ausie will definatley have a decent amount.

Ceramics can be left on over the night and they dont dusturb the animal. Other bulbs like spot lights don't last long.

yeah lol when i was taking photos of m lizard i put him on my exo terra lid and when i went to get him off man it was a pain lol

I use white bait mesh but one problem is if a cat does manage to get it paw through outer layer their claws get stuck in the white bait mesh.

Maby an infared heat bulb or just a plain red bulb

LOl i am on nzhs and they were talking about the permit system and how people were not returning the annual lizard return sheet thing and i said to make an online one which would be easier and they did!

I never knew you kept native! And no matter if they are native we will still be treated like crimanals like asking for permits and what species u can keep its a pain I would really love to have more nativess but no one has any they want to give away and if they do they have already have been snaped up

Yes you can but very expensive and rare and the chance of them being stolen. And they are hard to keep and are prone to stress and diseases so yeah that's why you don't c them

Snails will be fine for the frogs they just cough up the shell after.
