  1. with my powerhead i chopped out a small section of onion bag, the meshy plastic ones and glued that over the intake. Day after doing that i came home to find my blue tang stuck to it, luckily he survived

im currently try to make an auto top myself and was wondering where you got the float switch from ira. im thinking of going the powerhead head way of pumping the water back in as it isnt relying on an air tight seal .

when you say "run carbon" are you just placing some in a bag in your sump or are you placing it in filter that actuallt gets water movement through it eg. one of those air driven filters with carbon, common in goldfish tanks??
  4. so are these parameters good enough to put into your tank straight out of the tank? Was just wondering if many ppl in chch use tap water on their tank???
  5. hi ive always wondered about coralline algae, like what is the benefits of having or letting it grow in your tank esp. on areas like the side and back of your tanks. And does it hurt the tank if you scrub it off????

Different puffers require diff water param. If you are after a larger puffer try getting a Fahaka puffer (Tetraodon lineatus) grows to around 20 - 30 cm and in wild about 40cm. This puffer is fine in fresh water you just have to make sure you keep the water hard, about 10 dKH. I got mine down here in Chch at organism, just a little exspensive though. Theyre selling them now for $80!
