  1. Hey, I am about the 25th day though my cycling period. And i wanted to know, The more the merrier, in terms of water changes? If was to do a water change everyday in the cycling period would that disrupt anything?
  2. Im keen on the Co2. I have seen a good diy design on the Internet. What amount do i allow into the tank? Do i need to regulate it? or do it in shots? And can it kill the fish?
  3. I live in Strathmore. The light is built into this case thing. It has a reflector inside it. I can move it around ( its not attached)
  4. Do you think it would be a good idea to cut the taller plants i have currently growing and replant them to cover the gravel?

  8. Heya, I have a few plants in my tank. But i have heard muiltaple points of views on growing them.. I want to know the full out story with planting an aquarium: Lighting, substrate(Gravel?),Co2, Which plants and how they can help make my life easier in terms of cleaning? All of it!! :bounce: All you help would be much appreciated
  9. I Think thats a great idea. Have you put you plants straight into the gravel? or did you put down some soil stuff first? (sorry if this sound stupid, but im new to planting)

  11. Heyy, i was just think about how fast the water leaves the tank when Im doing a gravel clean and water change. What could i do to slow the water speed, but still have a good enough suck to clean with? I was thinking of using a thinner tube, like an airline or something, but with a larger attachment on the end. Any ideas?

And yea i know that the majority of people on this forum are nice, i have been very impressed with the kindness which awaits me here, for that thanks . But as i have made it clear, i do not like comments regarding my lack of spelling ability.

  15. Its day 21 in the cycling period and my results are... Ph : 7 Amoina: 0 ppm Nitreates:0.25 ppm Nitrate:10 ppm Meaning? ... I know that the Ph is good and its good to have that reading for Amoina, but what about the other two, keeping in mind that its the 21st day of the cycle. Edit: Tanks 60l, planted. - if thats any help Thanks
  16. K, i just asked. And the problem is that you need to use a mini flamethrower to set it... so thats out for the count.
  17. Yea i think i have earth ones. Does that mean i can just put them straight in?
  18. I dont know. Um they black in color and dark soot type stuff rubbs off them. Does that help? ..? I dont have any polyurethane, but i have my mums art products, She has resin, which is says exproxy on it. Could i use that?

Heyy, I have just put up my first moss wall! yay :bounce: But i have have some problems with keeping the back of it fish proof, ( the space between the mesh and the tank wall) After pondering for a good hour, about how best to fix the problem i thought of the magnets i had previously brought for a science fair project. the idea is to make a line of them along the sides of the mesh to hold it flat against the wall, and have the other magnets on the other side of the glass. I don't have a clue what they are made out of, but they are exposed and i wanted to know if they are Aquarium safe. My guess is no, but then i thought of painting/sealing them. What should i use? and what are your ideas if different to mine, Thanks!!
  20. Heyyy I have an underwater light in my tank, and i think it works fine with the natural look. I got mine from Hutt pets for $27. Its just a standard yellow light but it looks great, and it puts out a heap of light !! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  21. I have just set my first Moss Wall, Thanks for you help!! It cost me $6.75 Which means i managed to do it cheaper than you!! I will post some pictures when my tank settles :lol: Edit: Here are the before and after shots of my tank. This is the 2nd day.
