i found my rainbow shark is better behaved in a tank full of fish rather then with less fish, and enough caves for everyone helps too, but some of them are just born nasty.

hey thanks neon. i just moved my lipstick & checker barb fry to free up my lil tank for breeding. I have a black ruby barb in breeding colors and hopefully the other is female,going to try them first then the tigers. Should be interesting as i have normal,green and green striped gold tigers to experiment with.

Hey i was just doing my job! Nah i was little too brain damaged at the time but ill be seeing her on Monday :evil: Yea not really worth the pain aye, and im not allowed to drive for another 24 hours so getting a lil bored, But gave me time to re-aquascape a tank and some maintenance on the other tanks so at least the fishes are happy :lol: and just discovered what i thought were female tiger barbs might be black ruby barbs, one has changed to nearly all black with a red/purple head! wondered why they never really hung out with the rest of the tigers

Your on the right track lindy lol. Yea mate was a new heifer, think they are 'kiwicross' the temperament in all of them has been crazy! Boss said 'didnt think a female would get the best of you boy!'

Got 4 stitches in my head yesterday, was milking when WHAM! kicked in the jaw then WHAM! the back of my head hit the edge of concrete wall. ow! Next thing i knew i couldnt see for a second then i could see blood from my head and the blood i was spitting out oh and lots of little stars everywhere. Never have i felt so out of it and ive eaten alot of fun fungi except the pain wasnt very nice, the nice part was being showered by a hot nurse 8) oh yea! So ive got some days of work it a shame tho,had it been last week i could of gone to the palmy swap meet.bugger.

I have normal,green and gold green striped tiger barbs with checker barbs,lipstick barbs,Sumatra barb,loaches, bns, danios and a shark and they all get on together and cruise all areas of the tank. Haven't had any problems with them being nippy but the male tigers tend to fight amongst each other, no harm done though and funny to watch.

you can get a 'soda stream co2 mig wielder kit' from mitre10 that has a regulator to fit soda stream bottles, quite expensive for the whole kit but you could possibly buy the parts separately?

cool i will try a syringe thingy to get the liquid worms,i thought the lipsticks would be alright on the worms as they are big enough to tell what they are but the others are super small fry. I was trying to breed the lipsticks but thought it wasn't gonna happen cause the male is a bit of a wife beater :oops: stink thing was i had already removed 3/4 water before i noticed them,could they survive inside a canister filter? The mystery's are either checkers,kuhlis,bns or more lipsticks :bounce:

I was pulling apart a small tank last night when i found to my surprise 4 'lipstick barb' fry and some other really tiny fry,possibly 'checker barb'.No pics as our camera got dropped,hope they survive as the heater was off for a while and the water got real stirred up. Are microworms small enough for barb fry?

so it is a blue dolphin then? just asking as i have been offered the fry and some electric yellow fry for my new tank. Have no experience with cichlids though, i may have to start reading up.

still have your lipstick barbs? i have a male an not 100% sure if the other is female and im interested in breeding them. i have found pics of them under 'Puntius erythromycter' and 'Puntius puntio' not alot of info but maybe related to rosy barbs. Have not seen any more around?

Tank water, but something ate his fins overnight.Could possibly be something came in the water as it is untreated farm/spring water.Others still looking healthy tho.

ammonia aye, i did clean my main filter out that day to so could have had a spike. He had his fins intact last night,would've been around 12 hours before i found him dead,can bacteria munch something that quick? Should i dose tank with 'whitespot cure' to kill that bug if its there??

Yea it was sad ,one of my very first fish and probably the only one i was really attached to. Had a hard life at the start but made it through the new tank and new fish keeper stages. Had grown so much and a was a real character. I was thinking someone may have had a munch on him after he died? I vacuum gravel same day each week plus a water change in between. Water got a bit mucky when i was changing the 'caves' and plants around but i siphoned as much of the muck up as i could then looked clean when i refilled the water. Everyone looks healthy at the mo but it was fast whatever it was.

Did a water change on Saturday after some re-aquascaping, was looking healthy then and another smaller water change yesterday when i saw yoyo wasnt looking to well. Found this thread http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?t=16388 not sure if its the same though?

My big yoyo was dead this morning, looked healthy 2 days ago and yesterday i noticed some of his slime was coming off and was looking red in fins and mouth, not moving around as much. I did a water change added some stresscoat for the slime and all my other loaches an fish look healthy? pics are not nice will be very gutted to lose anymore loaches if anyone has any ideas of what it could be from. silva
