guess what i just came home with! lol 2 young yoyos and a zebra (same as your zebras) :bounce: pics aren't to clear tho.. saw the yoyos in the petstore and had to have them.Swaped my mate a girl platy for his zebra.

after i broke my flower pot in half i submersed it in a bucket till the air bubbles stopped coming out, wasnt sure what might be in those bubbles? (apart from air :p )

i read somewhere to put 'silver tape' along the top of the fluro tube, was wondering if it could be done using mylar instead. Couldnt find the page but now i have and it says you can:"When you use this style reflector the light never leaves the top the bulb, instead its reflected back through the bulbs and sent out the front. thanks guys, il leave it in my tank that's cycling and see what happens as the heater may be buggered, only getting up to 20 degrees max. There was other plants growing submersed i only saw at a glance,the boss was in a hurry so i may have another look. is there many plants one would find in such a place suited to tropical tanks? silva

ok,just a herb grower told me even tho they reflect light they absorb a lot too? maybe it was the herb talking aye :lol: Can mylar be placed directly on a fluro tube? silva

Was planting flax and toitois around a farm dam today,these plants were mainly in one area around some submersed logs. This piece had come out of the substrate so i grabbed it,no roots tho. Looks to me like something i saw on supasi's blog -potamogeton crispus? if it is will be alright in a Tropicana tank? silva

sorry my pics are a lil blurry. my two young clowns are quite shy,they hang with the barbs in the spraybar current or grubbing and such with the gold zebra loach (1 died last week ).They attempt to hang with my yoyo but seem a little intimidated by him/her. Yoyo plays with gold zebra but seems to ignore the clowns? silva

can som1 id these please? sorry pics aren't the greatest.. first is 'moe'-silver with a blue shimmer in the light, has a black spot over gold bar near tail fin.Top fin has black markings like an odessa barb? A pinky/red spot on nose.Quite feisty,. And 'muff' is silver without the blue shimmer, red nose and no markings in top fin.Has the same black spot over gold bar on tail. They schooled well with rosys when i had em and now hang with a pair of checker barbs and a heap of tiger barbs, but somtimes 'moe' will chase everyone away except 'muff'. Thanks

My yoyo has become lazy on the ramshorns, i have to break a bit of shell off and then it hooks right into them.cleaned out the pond snails straight away tho.I think my young clowns have made a a dent in the trumpet snails but they're not bad snails to have.My gold zebras seem to only eat tropical and brine shrimp flake. my kuhlis wont even approach a sinking pellet if the snails are there first. Was in palmy yesterday and animaniacs had heaps of cool little loaches.

I thought this bulb was 6400k, a whiteish/blueish light it puts out. 105w is actual power rating as the size of bulb (minus ballast part) is 210mm long by 80mm wide. Thinking of using it to get plants well established before adding fish as im sure it would blind anything that has eyeballs within 2ft of it.

could i use organic ferts for normal plants for aquatic plants,with or without fish? If so how much more would i need to water it down? I have some of this earthjuice products and all use the rate of 5ml to 4 liters water. Earth Juice Microblast is a proprietary liquid micronutrient formula to be used to prevent and correct micronutrient deficiencies. Contains Magnesium 0.50%; Boron 0.02%; Cobalt 0.0005%; Iron 0.10%; Manganese 0.05%; Molybdenum 0.0005%; and Zinc 0.05% in an organic base. Naturally buffered for assured plant absorption. May be watered in or used as a foliage spray. Use 2 tsp. Earth Juice Microblast / gallon of water. Ingredients: Kelp meal, magnesium sulfate, borax, cobalt sulfate, ferrous sulfate, manganese sulfate, sodium molybdate and zinc sulfate.

These sound quite nasty- 30% Phosphoric acid 10% Sulfuric acid 10% Benzlalkydimethy Ammonium Chloride Water Maybe a ph test would tell you if the acid was gone after washing em out,but i dont know about the other chem? :-? Your call.

If empty 200l drums that contained acid sanitizer for farm dairy cleaning are ok,then i can get a couple for free if you want dem? we have used them for various things on farm after a good wash out.
