  1. Thanks so much for uploading those photos Caryl Fishy is looking really sad around the filter inlet now, letting herself be sucked by the filter

    My new fish

Love the coconut! Did you do anything special to it to prepare it?
  3. I should have said, I have had him/her for 5 months, and this is a first.
  4. The bulge is a bit closer to the gills, and white-ish A breeder on this forum was unable to sex the fish - it doesn't have a white egg spot Thank so much
  5. Underneath & bulges out both sides when looking from behind (my anatomy of fish is a bit shocking) Just looks like his/her usual self otherwise.
  6. My fighter (which I was never sure if it was a male or female) has a bulging abdoman (I guess) - my son (who was used to pregnant guppies) thought she was pregnant  I have a photo, but don't have photobucket or whatever. I am currently treating the tank for whitespot. Can anyone tell me what could be wrong? Thanks.
  7. The other thing about the palm oil (if I remember correctly) is that they were replacing the milk with the palm oil. I'm a Whittakers girl anyway
  8. Gorgeous fish adodge!! Makes me want to set another tank up just to get another one!!
  9. Thanks so much guys Hopefully we will be able to get on top of the problem!
  10. AS much as I hate to admit it, we have a cockroach problem. I know I can't let off an insecticide bomb, but does anyone know what I can do? My son (9) has taken to singing silly songs about cockroaches

    Platys..

I don't know about Tiger platties, but I got a red zebra one today - rather sweet
  12. Thanks, but I was meaning in the flat place hard up against the glass. Any ideas?
  13. Hi there. This is probably a silly question (and no doubt not in the right place) but I have a Juwel Rekord tank, and the filter is in a box attached permanently to the tank. However, water has seeped in between the box and the glass, and has gone green (as you would expect). How do I get it clean? Thanks heaps Lisa

    Hello

Thanks for all the potential hiding places everyone. I pulled apart the filter and had a great hunt. The water is still ok, so he is unlilkely to be dead in the tank after all this time. I think my beloved cat was a bit more cheerful than usual the other day. Would quite like to replace him though - does anyone know of anyone who has some short finned blue bettas around here? The person I got him off sold the whole batch elsewhere, so all his siblings have gone. Hubby is not keen on the long tails. Thanks Lisa

    Hello

Thanks everyone Yep - we have a cat, and that's where we figured he went. I moved everything in the tank, but no fishie. The Guppies are happy without him now though!

    Hello

Thanks for the kind welcome everyone. Yes, Mark, I've looked on the floor, in every conceivable gap - even moved the bookcase! Still no Betta. I figured he jumped out through the small gap where the cords go out of the tank, under the hood - even pulled my filter apart to see if he fell in the finger-hole where you lift off the lid (I have a Juwel tank). Suppose he will turn up somewhere really weird

    Hello

Hi all I am a newbie here, and at keeping fish, and love your forum! I have some guppies (and naturally the many babies that result) and last night I could have said I have a beautiful blue Betta - who this morning is missing in action I was in the process of changing my fish, and he was the only one I wanted to keep, but I guess my plans have been changed for me Thanks to all of you who contribute here - there's such a wealth of information and a neat little community. Lisa
