adodge i dont know how much to water the ph used otherwise i would I have had problems with the ph going down before might be that hehe and im gonna get a 1200 ltr an hour filter when i have the money hehe

adodge it was just between the yellow and the lightest green I only feed a tiny amout and fish are fine apart from platy that died I broke the tube for the PH so I cant check it waaaaaaaaa lol :bounce: they are all swimming around the tank maybe i need the better filter??? what you reckon adoge?

alanco im baffled the tank looks perfect its the curved one you saw that i got for 70 dollars had ammonia prob before i think too much feeding there only about 30 fish in there so its nice and clean now i wash the filter sponges in bucket not tap So dunno what im doing wrong gonna get a real good filter sell the other 2 or keep as spares Always keep spare filter and heater lol Family is away hopefully they can get me nice piece of drift wood for 2 foot tank thats loaded with guppies no ammonia in there Better to keep eye on it though lol

alanco yes only ten mintues to my joint from yours ha Im dying to get some drift wood one of my platies dies yesterday so I better go check my ammonia again :bounce:

thanks adodge i will not feed the bottom feeders 4 pelets each day and 2 small aqua one filters they aint that good !!! And i have no idea how long the dead fish was in there it wasnt really big so Id say its not an old one I only lost 3 fish all yr one cat fish died the platy today and one to dropsy

thanks i did a real good stone vacum I did notice a lot of plant wasit my plants in my other tank with the standard old light are doing better than in the curved glass jebo lol Should i test again tonight or leave till tomorrow i hope no more fish die oh well time for some replacements lol :bounce:

i cleaned the dead plants off the filters and no just one fish out of another tank which i checked that is fine It would be from not having the light on so much?? maybe i should clean once a week and take out half I will take some more out tomorrow like you said this happend before but no fish died

Mel thanks i did something stupid and took most of the water out I will test it again tomorrow and do 20 percent like you said and test daily Dunno why im having problems still I wont feed till tomorrow thanks for your help happy new yr

:lol: funny the pet shop said that most of you on here give out bad advice Person i know in the shop worked there for 15 yrs but thanks i will take on board what you said abotu not feeding so much and also the water changes cheers something is wrong to get ammonia in a tank that looks perfect that has been set up for so long cheers

yes i rang the pet shop there isnt too much fish in there they said cut down feeding I have just drained 3/4 of the water out there was one dead platty and the test showed ammonia again ! grrr Dunno why when the tank looks so perfect Oh well I have 50 guppy fry if they all die thanks for the help I will get the sponge i need thta for my fry tank and try it on these small filters I do want a new filter though the elithim i got for my turtle is good

hi lssmith is talking about my guppy tank that dont have the ammonia but gets dirty I agree with the feeding but I dont think there is too many fish in there I take all the babies out there is another 15 I dont mind changing half the water once a week but dont think i need to do it several times Im on the hunt for a bigger tank if I can get a reasonable priced one with stand I am going to buy a 4 or 5 foot one but my partner said im not allowed till we move Year your advice is good I have found the Uk forum the ppl are a bit more friendly
