Hi again hehe why did it get dropsy? thought it was age or something wrong with it Was rather sad when I found it dead the rest look fine my ammonia is yellow so that means 0 on the kitt the ph has been low around 6.4 ish i busted my test tube grr so when I go to the petstore i have to get another one What are the other reasons I did read about dropsy before posting

Id say at least 40 babies (lost count) maybe less? about 25 guppies in one tank 5 cat fish, 5 neons tank in comptuer room 14 guppies 11 platys 4 cat fish 10 neons and 3 baby platys lol

Unless its coz tehy are not as harty as the big fish??

Easy to care for. I only lost one play but it was old or something got dropsy Just make sure you get the best filter you can afford. Look on trademe you can get tanks cheap on there

Hi dixon thanks for that Oh yes alanco some of them are brave thats the ones i have left in my 2 foot tank there is 5 i seen today the ones by themselves are better in the mini tank I have seen pictures of ppl with 100s of guppies in tanks wouldnt they die??? Andddddddddd babies are being sold in a few weeks I hope they have fattened up I got some nice white ones i can see the yellow on some of the females tales the babies, and i test my water make sure there is no ammonia if there is, I do water changes till its gone, I didnt cycle the baby tank, tut tut lol, i took the water out of my other one, oh well live and learn none died I lost one cat fish a month ago found its skeleton and one platy got dropsy thats about it !!!

i been feednig 3 times a day now, i will change the water tomorrow and add some stress coat. Remmeber i had the ammonia problem in my tanks before Oh one of my fish got that thing dropsy that wasnt nice hehe poor thing I thought it was pregnant then it got past pregnant The tank in my bedroom the guppies in there omg the babie ones just swim around like they are dare devils lol

At least you got most of them I dont use a net yet I have too many fish now BUT from what i have seen pics of on here and online people have their tanks loaded with guppies so maybe i can have heaps in there? the babies are fun to catch aye, my gold or blonde babies if they gonna stay that colour?? i seem to nice they duck under the gravel I have a small 22 litre tank they love it in there and oooo i only feed mine flake, and spirulina and some discus food i was given i grind it up How often do you feed yours?? I had to put a peice of mesh off the incense bag over the power head in the fry tank coz i found 2 fry in ma filter lol

Well done, im sure your fish will be fine I got my guppies off a breader he has no ph or no ammonia test kitt, and just does frequent water changes and his fish are in perfect condtion. I have 40 baby fry Im glad i got the ammonia test kitt like you though coz i had a slight problem it all seems better now, tank wasnt cycled for long enough. and feeding too much ha !!!!!! My platy is so fat its gonna explode i never seen a fish so big, lol. I got a hair alage problem now grrrr in one tank BUT my plants all have booomed and look great worth the effort aye. my rule now is tank maintance on saturday takes me about an hour to do the turtle tank 3 foot, 2 foot tank in my room and curved glass tank in comptuer room, and baby fry tank NO MORE TANKS till i move Then im gonna get a 4 foot or bigger tank i cant wait

I have ten adult platys and 3 babies, funny how I only ended up with 3, my partner calls one of the platys great white, reckons they babies are getting munched, one of mine is so fat i think there is something wrong with it :lol:

Just got another 7 out of tank into fry tank and then 3 platy out of my tank in comptuer room What am i gonna do with these fish??? Should i just leave the rest of the babies in the tanks??? selll this lot in a month then fish the others out?? I really dont want a big fry tank its not worth it for what you get for them and i cant bear to feed them to the turtle

i will keep them till christmas unless anyone wants to buy the babies, id rather wait till they are a big bigger Anddddddd all my guppies are in 2 diff tanks, so they could be anything I got some gold guppies?? a rex tux, a snake skin one, some females that have black all over them and colours on their tales some with big tails i think there even might be a few swords I got about 40 guppies for 15 dollars otherwise I would of just picked the best ones out hehe I have 3 tanks now 2 with fish, one with fry so thats three and a turtle so that makes four everyone thinks im mad so no more tanks, until next yr when I shift i might get a 4 or 5 foot job ooo cant wait lmao

hi they are in a small 22 litre tank there is like 30 in there, i have more babies to catch out of my other 2 tanks so there wont be much room hence wantin to get rid of them i could feed too the turtle but thats a bit mean for fancy guppies ! lol

The man at the pet shop said he will take mine for dollar each so it will have to be just before christmas they are sitll only a few weeks old how do I pick the best ones to keep??? i can see some of the little females have colours on their tales hehe

Yes well i dont need to ask as much now I found out how to have a good poke around and see whats on here and i got some of the cotton algae stuff off it looks better now ill just keep doing that i cant afford the medicine stuff at the moment !!!!!! and whetu i had 5 threads no one answers i thought everyone might of been a bit snobbish here

Yep i understand that I did get some nice help from a man but apart from that was ingored anyway thanks, i been trying to read and learn on here i have learnt heaps its great

ooo no it looks like mine is hair alge (sorry to high jack your thread) I dont have nitrate kits etc it said to get it out with your hand and then rinse in bucket and get it out again what you guys reckon im off to do a serach for it on here ty

Yes i have looked that up it looks like that ooo wonder where i got that from thank god its only in one tank !!!!!! The plants are doing really well I will trim it off and whetu yes i will do that thanks for the advice it aint very pretty lol lol I have 30 babies now in a sep tank, i used water from my main tank, the ammonia is all at 0 and ph around 7. my ph in tank with drift wood is only about 6.6 With my fry tank what do I have to do to that ? just clean as normal Man at pet shop taking baby guppies for dollar each I think i got some gold ones tooooooooo yeeeeeeeeee and my platty is so fat its gonna pop

wow what lovley guppies I have about 30 fry dunno what they are going to bed I got a red tux, snake skin, and some white guppies? be interesting to see how they come out I only had the fish a few months but they prob knocked up when I got them

hi they only usually answer you once around here then ingore you lol anyway I just ran my tank for 3 weeks added stress coat etc it was fine Just done put 100 fish in it at once try add a few every few weeks?? Get an ammonia kitt, i got an expired onee off trademe for ten bucks it works fine ALso regular small water changes I have 80 fish approx I only lost one cat fish, and i got at least 30 babie guppies !!!!!!!!!
