Just googled it, yep i guess that could be it! So theres nothing to worry about regarding the foam then! Just gutted that 3 of the 4 gouramis have died

Hi something seems to be wrong with the water, on the top is a layer of foam, its pushed towards the edge of the tank. Given ive lost a few fish the past week or so is there any reason for this? thank

Cheers, looks like a nasty virus! Must admit twice weekly water changes doesnt thrill me!..but will keep that in mind and will be watching the remaining Gourami's closely.

Ok well not good. Seems i got my 2 blue Goruamis mixed up, i assumed the sick one was the injured looking one. It wasnt. Hes still ok (well he was this morning) But the other i found dead getting pecked at by one of my Kulhi's. Damn

Hard to say, doesnt keep still long enough for me to see! Does seem bright red with a pale center. The fin right above it is very small anyway so hard to see if its torn. ill try take some pics and post them cheers again

Yes! Just got home, pleased to say he is fine. Have 2 of them so assume im looking at the right one! On 1 side theres noticeably a small red area just beneath his fin (the side one). Looks like an injury as opposed to a rash etc... what should i do? Like i said he is moving around ok, both of them are (really cant be 100% sure its the right one!)

They seem to be about the same size, its bright blue so havent noticed any injuries or redness .Assuming its still alive when i get home ill take a closer look.

Cheers mate, like you said someone who has had them in the past may have seen it before. IF its an isolated case then i guess its just one of those things. Just hope thats all it is.

yep tested the water, fine..have done regular 20-25% water changes weekly since we got the tank (late July) have currently 6 tigers, along with the 4 gouramis, 8 neons and some kuhlis. 135 liter tank

cant see any injuries, i guess with the tigers they could have harassed him. I feed them lastnight, hoping to get some life out of him....think it worked a little at the time. I guess ill have to see how he is when i get home. Be gutted to lose him

We have 4 Gouramis, have had them well over a month now (tank is only a couple weeks older than that). While have lost the odd neon and Tiger, these guys have been the 'rock' of the community. Never had any problems.....till now. Noticed lastnight one of the blue gouramis was at the bottom on its side not looking the bes. It occasionally perked up and would move. Expected to wake up this morning to see it dead but no still alive, but again looking listless and not well. Any ideas on what (i know thats vague there could be 100 problems). Water seems fine, we are on tank supply. The other 3 Goruram's look fine.

Kuhli's? Same, we bought 4 over the weekend and all we get now is the odd glimpse at one at a time. We assume they are in there somewhere!

Yep very similar to that...just not as bad thankfully. Only been 3 or 4 spots. Could be, its in the lounge and does get sunlight almost directly. Its a small house and basically theres nowhere that doesnt get sunlight. Cheers fullas/fullesses!

hey just need some input. Tank is going great, its 6 weeks in and no fish fatalities for a couple or so weeks (touching wood). But have now noticed the last week or so these black spot/smudges on the tank. Ive been wiping them clean but then they reappear within a day or so. There would be maybe 3 or 4 at any 1 time. Also seem to be around the same area, although as the back and 1 side is up against a wall there could be more. Is it algae? cheers

we have 5 tigers in our 135 litre tank, sharing it with a school of neons, gouramis and now loaches. ive never seen the Tigers harass any of the other fish, they seem content in swimming around close together, chasing each other etc.. actually keen to add a ram or two, would that work in a tank our size?

its great now trying to spot them, they swam straight to the back of the tank initially but now have spotted a couple near the front under some stones.

Just added 4 Kuhli's to my tank about 4 hours ago, so far seen just the 1! Hoping they will nestle in the front of the tank where i have a log

seems about the average, theres a pet shop up here that has them for $6 each.

just picked up 4 today, $22 from Hollywood fish. hopefully ill get to see them again!
