    Clown Killie tank

Hi Fox, I am pleased to see, you have removed the crainium from the aquarium! To get rid of the small snails, firstly I recommend you soak any plants to be used in any tank in allum water, and if as you have noticed small snails in the aquarium, introduce a couple of chain loaches, they will eat any new baby snails. Hope this helps! Cheers, EJ
  3. Hi There, I did have the same problem in my AquaOne 150, I got myself four Chain Loaches and removed the adult snails when they appered, after a couple of months, the tank is free from snails. Hope this helps

    Nigripinnis

Hi All, Regarding hatching of Nothobranchius, I will recomend keeping the pet in 22C - 24C for the incubaion period normaly arround 3 months depending the spesices. Before hatching lay the peat on the garage floor or store the peat arround 18C - 20C for 24 hours before wetting (Can you feel the cool rain on the Savana) the first fry will be ready for hatching. Dry the peat and wet it 2-4 weeks after first hatch, and you will be surprised there may be more fry hatching Hope this help Erling
  10. As davidb corectly points out it can be iron deficit, but also lack of light, when you mention red plants do you mean Alternanthera reinecki "Red"? as this plant require lots of light. Best of luck.
  11. Paul, please get in tuch with me, you must have problems which I may be able to help you with. Cheers Erling

    collecting eggs

Hi everybody! I am sorry, but you are creating a lot of work for yourself, using the sand as spawning media and the then collecting the eggs and placing them in peat for storing. Why not let them spawn directly in the peat placed in a small container with a hole cut in the lid, and have a couple of small stones to keep the container down. Collecting the peat and eggs every 14 days, dry the peat and eggs on a newspaper, bag the content in a sealable plasitc bag marked with the day colected and the day for wetting. I have used this metod for different Nothobranchius species, and have had no problems. EJ NZKA 216 SKS 156

Can anyone give me some advice on where to purchase clear strains of Guppies, because if I am going to breed Guppies it has to be done right from the start. In advance, thank you EJ

    sagittaria

Hi Jude Is the plant that is spreading the one I send you? If so, it is Echinodorus quardrostatus and it will form a carpet of 100mm to 150mm all over the tank. Perhaps I should have told you that? ej
  20. I have recently been in Denmark (The homeland of Tropica) they grow Java Fern on driftwood with a suction cup attached to it, this allow placing the plants on the glass, which in turn makes a very good place for Discus to hide under
