  1. I have had a few that I have grown up and they take a while to grow. These ones I currently have are about 3cm and I have had them for about 3 months and in the time they have grown about 1 cm. However I have only ever had them reach about 7cm. Hope that helps you
  2. Ha yeah I don't know much about goldfish either. I just happened to walk past and see him struggling in the pond. Hes eating and pooing. Otherwise he has gone very pale in colour and is lethargic, and just rest on the bottom of the bucket. I do have the water shallow but that was more so he could reach the food when he was having trouble swimming to get the food at first.

  4. Hey Guys, about a week ago I fished a GOldfish out of my parents fish pond He was tail up head down - looking constiapted So I gave him peas and now he is swimming fine but... He has this Lump on his lip that Has grown bigger over the week. I have had him in shallow water and Salt for the past week but still not helping his lump and he is lethargic and pale in colour. He is not swimming tail up anymore so The peas fixed that, but I just want to know since the salt hasn't worked what else could I do? Or Do you have any ideas of what it could be? At first I thought fungal but when I have seen fungal infections before they have been like w hite fluff where this is a actual lump. Photos to come
  5. HOw long do you normally give your salt to start working? Or to notice that he is fully better?
  6. Just had a closer look at hiim cause there was lots of green poo this morning. But his lip where there was the little cut now has a huge brown/orange lump... The salt will help with that???
  7. Oh glad to hear your wee guy is ok
  8. All is well, All fish are going good. Theyve been in the dark all day and temp is back to normal. I think I paniced more cause of the discus cause they are very tempermental with temps and 3 of them are Are just new to the tank so were already adjusting to the tank and then this happens. But thankfully I looked at it this morning and will never ever do that again!.
  9. He is still hanging in there, swimming a bit better and this morning there where a couple tiny tiny green poos - Im guessing green cause of peas but tiny cause still constipated. Hes still floating a little so now its just time hopefully he eats some more peas and does bigger poos Rochelle
  10. Oh ok. Im heading out to uni but I have closed all the blinds and turned off their lights Won't be home until late. So the dark should help. Oh Im going to be worrying all day. The temp is at 23 now so its gradually increasing hopefully up hill form here Thanks
  11. Hey guys, Yesterday I did a water change and clean up of my whole tank, floor around it moved out the couch from in front of it, and when I moved the couch back I didn't notice that the cord was stuck around the leg and had pulled it out of the wall. So since yesterday at about 1pm My community tank has been without a heater. However the temperature didn't drop enough to notice yesterday it was only this monring that I saw it was 16Degrees. I now have currently got it back to 20. I have put in a couple bottles of warm water to float and did a water change with the hose going out while I was bucketing in water but slowly increasing the temperature every 2 buckets. So far No fish have died (touch Wood) But my discus are slow and lethargic which is expected. Is there anything else I can do to reduce their stress? Oh I so hope that none of them die itll be a miracle but so far so good. Especially for my discus when their used to 28. The Synos and 2 Lace Gouramis have been through all my tank ups and downs so I think they are pretty hardy. ARGh such a stupid thing to like not double check.
  12. Congrats on the purchase, very lucky and hopefully good luck on them being a happy couple
  13. Cool thanks. I have him in shallow water with mushed peas in it. And I have Aquarium salt for my tropicals so I can use it on goldfish too Lol sorry I don't know anything about goldfish but assumed itd be similar to what I normally do but wanted to check Ill go get some more pond water and put some salt in it
  14. Just had a closer look at him and close to his mouth he appears to have a small growth im assuming a cut that has turned into a fungal infection. I have put some melafix in just cause I wasn't sure what else to do and I would do the same with my tropicals. If that doesn't work what else should I do... I have some furan I can use ... But I want some advise and your opinions first.
  15. Hey Guys, I don't really know much about goldfish but was out looking at my parents pond today and there was the most gorgeous goldfish with his tail in the air trying to swim down. I have taken a bucket of water and put him in it, feed him some peas which he hasnt eaten as of yet. He is still at the top with his tail up and head down. What else can I do to make sure he gets better. Any help would be great, if I fix this guy up im going to put him in my pond he is a gorgeous orange comet (I think) with a black outline on all of his fins. Very neat. Thanks
  16. LOl Rudolph is my mums nickname after having a couple wines I not planning on stopping feeding them colour bits to see cause the discus go crazy over them. So Lets just hope it is that and they live happily ever after with their pink noses. P.S. Discuguru our wee ones have settled in well thanks so much, My friend named them for us OJ (Orange Juice), JR -Junior (her initials), and beatrice (Famoina sP - the discus thrower)
  17. Hey all, Thanks for your comments. They are still going strong, but still pink. So who knows, It could be the temperature cause I have just started slowly turning up the tempertaure with discus and the cold setting in. Otherwise Im just doing my normal water changes which I am now doing daily instead of every second day. And they also eat lots of colourbits left over from the discus. As long as They are still playing about I guess they are ok.
  18. Wow that looks lovely. I really like your candle holder? It looks cool and then once your tank has setlled it will look even better. Well Done.
  19. Wow, awesome discus. How old are they now? and how big?
  20. Yeha do not use pH down, once you start you can;t stop or it will go up again its and on going thing that you don'tneed. Maybe you could also add some drift wood I know that lowers the pH, and you could get GBA to go with your guppies. And they love driftwood.
  21. If I had a tank of babies I would Probably do a small ice cube once a day, Although I would probably feed them less than usual since I would be unable to keep an eye on them myself. How ever with my big community tank I would probably just give them a feed before I leave and probably get someone to feed them one of the babies ice cubes and a slice of cucumber (for plecos but ALL my fish eat it) on maybe the 2nd or 3rd day your away. Cause I know fish are fine without being feed for a while but I'd get worried personally
  22. I was just looking at them on TM and there is one that has a full pink body. :-? But yeah this is their nose mainly and slightly behind their head. Im going to wait a couple weeks to see if what happened to ollys happens to mine. Fingers crossed it doesn't as he said his were normal and then all ofa sudden. Who knows its a complete mystery. The 3rd one that didn't have any rednes and then did well his redness has gone now I was probably just seeing things So atleast one of them doesnt have it
  23. Me to, its so inspiring looking at other peoples tanks. I think Im just going to go with a light gravel and a few pieces of driftwood and slate type but put almost as a feature. I have tried aquasqapping cool scenes but it doesnt last long. At the moment we got those ornament log caves and a big barrel which are cool but I just get sick of things. And will def post photos but I havent started fixing it yet Got to wait until I have time after exams.
  24. I went to LFS today and saw some really cool, Pink Balloon Kissing gouramis... Could anyone tell me some info about these would they go with what I currently have in my tank and how big do they get? I looked online but some sites say 9cm and some say up to 20cm Thanks.
