  1. do u use one of those new Aqua one fighter Unit's? How do you find they work?
  2. WOW ron Awesome work!!!
  3. Microworms* Can fry eat these once free swimming? or is greenwater better for the first week? They will have to live out in the garage with the whiteworms then
  4. I am thinking of starting up a culture of these 2 feed the baby fighters on in the beginning then feeding decap brineshrimp. Are the Mircoworms easy to get going/carefor? My White worms are great, Im quite bad sometimes and forget to feed them for ages, thinking they have died i try putting some bread in just incase and they all come out!
  5. do u just have them floating or are the planted in some gravel? I like the look of them and I think we have something similar I saw at our petshop 2day.
  6. yea, I agree I just feel so bad when you look on TM at all the Lori's in these tiny budgy cages....There was one on there awhile ago in a canary size cage and it has plucked itself to peices!!! I was so tempted to add it 2 my flock but it was 2 far away. My boy uses his cage as his play area and sleep/food area(he sleeps in a hood that I cut off one of my old jumpers lol) He hardly ever leaves it, he is either ontop or on the curtain rails or the window tapping away trying to rattle his brain lol.
  7. who, my boy? nope, we have someone home here all the time and he sits out with the galahs. He plays in there alot though as we change his toys every 3 days, we just leave the door open.
  8. We found just wrapping a towl around the lower half of the cage helped dramaticly. Also, have the wet nectar low down(but not under a perch) as what they do is get it all over ther beaks and then shake and flick there heads and it flys everywere gets caked on the bars and on the carpet. We take the cage outside and do a weekly hose down and it gets the necter off pretty easily. :bounce: We have just added another Galah to our family, BOY its noisey here! LOL 2 galah and a lori.
  9. We have the same cage for our boy but the next size up
  10. They must have WET nectar avail at all time. Our one gets fresh wet mix morning and night but has dry avail in his cage 24/7
  11. We have a Rainbow Lori and currently Handrearing a Galah chick(Rose breasted cockatoo) (our house is going to be very VERY noisey soon!) Our rainbow is great fun but please note, they are a VERY hormonal species of parrot. They change over night to nasty little terrors and you will wonder were your sweet cuddly parrot has disapeared too when they hit sexual maturity Honestly, I wouldnt recommend them to first time parrot owners, you need to be firm and consistant otherwise you will have real problems and another one will end up on TM looking for a new home. But, If you think you can handle it try and find a handreared DNA'd Male, they are less agressive once they are mature and alot easier to deal with. The mess they make is somthing else! We have shit up the walls on the windows on the carpet, on the table which is like 3mtrs away it just seems to be everywerre! He has even shat on my dad a few times when he has gone to say hello and hes up against the cage and fires one out at you. He has alot to say all day, they are definetly not a quiet parrot. Hes just on a year and can say so far Hello(he repeats this like a stuck record when you are in the room) Tookie(his name) and also says it in a grumpy yelling voice Hello Tookie Tookie Pookie Tookie Poo Pepsi(our dogs name) Peppy Poo He copys the beeping noises that the keys make when u use the phone the beeping of the oven and the microwave He growls laughs a real belly laugh he screems cheep cheep says ARRRGGGGGG and knows a ton of different whistles. here's pics of the little toad when he was 9 weeks old and this was a female we reared b4 we got this guy kiss's for teddy
  12. holey cow david! that a LOT of fighters! I don't see these being hard to get anymore! you are going to populate NZ lol :bounce: Well done!
  13. iv tryed breeding my rams in a BB tank. they not interested. Im thinking of putting a corner of silicon sand in and put there flat rocks near by. They were laying eggs in my fine pebble substrate like crazy! The fry ended up all dying cuz they sqeezed into the corners to the bottom and couldnt find there way back up or got stuck  So will see if the sand will work.
  14. i had 2 females I couldnt keep together. The just continued to attack each other and I think If i had left them one of them would have died!
