  1. Hi - question. Your Rio bristle, is that also the same as an orange finned bristle? Mine looks exactly the same but was sold as orange finned?
  2. That is spectacular - what size is the display tank going to be, cos its gonna need to be massive! :happy1:
  3. Probably but on a channel you have to pay for. My two are going again tonight but its different this time. The Turq has been doing a ninety degree thing to the part where the eggs come from but there are no eggs at yet. Should be interesting to see what happens.
  4. In all serious though, unless a male comes along to break them up is there anything you can do other than swap one of them?
  5. There are so many things I want to say :digH:
  6. A discus threesome forming a harem - man it's on in your tank :slfg:
  7. Just watching them lay their second lot of eggs - how cool to actually see it. My apologies to Mr G, my discus - turns out she's Mrs G. Have to feel a bit sorry for her, she's laying the eggs and the blue one is coming along after her eating them all. The last pass, he had eaten the first two, while she was laying the last two - seems a little disrespectful for the effort!
  8. 12 discus -that must look amazing. What size tank is it? The thing that has surprised me is that I have two really large discus and four small ones, yet they were all the same size when I bought them
  9. I was wondering what will happen afterwards, but might do the same if it doesn't stay calm. They seem to be eating anything that has gone white so not expecting there to be any tomorrow.
  10. I have eggs! 108 to be precise. Not that I want them to hatch but it's pretty cool. Interestingly since they laid they are more laid back then before so peace is reining at the moment. How exciting! Although some are a red colour and some a bright orange so I'm guessing they are already dead?
  11. Little mr pigeon has made it through. He's done more number 2's than I ever thought possible, and is resting comfortably in his hospital for another night before heading home tomorrow. Thanks Adrienne for the perfect idea, it definitely helped him. As an aside the discus are back at it again, so they have one week to sort it out before one is offered for rehoming. While I love them, I love the three I can't freaking see too!
  12. The old frisky discus business. No issue with it as long as they lose their grumpiness, otherwise I'm gonna trash their party! :phb:
  13. Perfect idea. With the help of a big net, a peg, a coat hanger and a pillowcase for a weight, he is now fully supported upright and doesn't have to try to keep himself up. Hopefully he can relax, although to be honest it doesn't look good and I feel horrible. He's going to rest for the rest of the night so cross fingers
  14. Yeah I did wonder that. Im not quite sure what I will do but will wait to see what happens. Unfortunately at the moment, little pigeon with bloat is in emergency room. He's struggling to stay upright and is constantly resting against things, in hospital tank with a double Epsom but I've got a bad feeling. Fingers crossed he pulls thru.
  15. An update - little due has come out - he has bloat. Epsom salts administered. And now I have cories doing the mating dance, it's all on in the tank!
  16. Ok so for the last two days all they have done is hang out with each other. They pretty much never leave each others side. Problem is its like I only have two discus. The other four all go hiding cos if they get to close they get chased. And then today I out some flourish root tabs in and things have gone a little haywire. The two big ones and two small ones are fine. But the other two small ones don't look good. Both hiding, but its the small pigeon that concerns me the most. He was hiding, 'swimming furiously with all fins but going nowhere. He got chased out of his hide by the big one, and is under a piece of driftwood. But he's up against the driftwood like he can't keep himself upright. Gills are going and he's breathing slowly. Very strange. Did water change already and rummies and everything else look fine. Hmmmmm
  17. Yep maybe they said tank very much! :sml1:
  18. . My two have now moved on from each other, no longer interested. . It was fun while it lasted though
  19. Oh ok cool thanks, that makes sense. Oh well, it's great night time viewing if nothing else. No eggs today just a lot of cleaning and shivering.
  20. Can you explain that for me a bit more? Why would they lay eggs if not a pair? Just been watching the, for half an hour or so and they are both pecking at the wood a bit, but when the blue does it, he gets told off and stops. The one time the blue went for a wander around the tank, he got fetched back to the wood again. It's better than TV :spop:
  21. Not that I can see. But the pigeon is doing a lot of facing the driftwood and shivering. Always when the Turq is there. They just did a bit of tail slapping and face to face pecking as well. And the pigeon also seems to be trying to 'clean' the driftwood. It has little bits of hair algae on it and its like he is picking it off. He's kind of nibbling at the wood quite a but.
  22. Hmmm tonight it looks like the big pigeon is being mean. The blue Turq is being chased now, and hides down behind the wood. He comes out when the pigeon isn't there, so could it be that he's just turned into a big meanie. Or is it just the buy putting on a show (not making any comparisons to humans......)
  23. Ok will do. They would be interesting - a pigeon crossed with a blue Turq!
  24. Oh bloody hell! I'm guessing that any eggs would just be eaten by the other tank mates?
