  2. And to gloat about the one person getting done that you buy lots of fish from! wow mature
  3. gee cichlid you must feel special starting up this gossip coloumn. FRIG! we were there when MAF was there doing the whole thing. you just rang you know who just to get the gossip to start this whole thread making out you know all!!!! got nothing better to do huh? everybody that bought these fish knew what they were, and the risks. of getting caught. its the way it goes!
  4. and what do people do when they get caught by MAF? mr colombo street tries to put the blame all onto the other person when mr colombo street was selling them on trade me making a huge profit and stating in his add to everyone that basically these fish were illegal.......nice one. who is the one with 24 hour suveilance on him
  5. Awesome. thank you. She has also bought a bottle of 'PRIME' to remove chlorine, chlorimine, ammonia and detoxifies nitrate and nitrite....................... is this advised to add to the tank as well as water change and red sea salt or should she just leave it to do its thing naturally? 8)
  6. Oh dear....lol well i guess thats what happens when you listen to the wrong person about what salt you should use. Thanks. she will be changing to red sea salt and hopefully that will improve the situation. the sea salt......could that help create diseases? one of the mono's developed a red pimple thing on its nose.
  7. MAF has destroyed 3 of these that somoeone i know bought. They are definately on the lookout for anyone else that has these fish. They said it is an eel probably come from asia and grows to at least 2 foot and is certainaly not something that would want to be released into the water ways.....they are probably keeping an eye on this thread too to find out who ese has them.
  8. My friend has a brackish tank with mono's, and scats in it. she started off using the red sea salt then changed to the rock sea salt.... the tank has been set up for quite a few months now lately fish has been dropping off. all scats are now dead and the mono's are dying off. help please? is this because of the type of salt or could it just be bad luck with the fish? :-?
  9. well that definately means i have the dominant male as he is bright colour and blue top fin. possibly another sub male and hopefully the otehr 2 are females. The male was certainly heaps bigger than the other 3 when i bought them. Thanks for the info 8)
  10. Need some help here guys :-? As common knowledge the way to sex peacocks is by the egg spots on anal fin and also the shape...... I bought 4 quite some time ago and they were a decent size now at around 8cm i thought i bought 1 male (he had the egg spots and pointed anal fin) and 3 females (with no egg spots and round anal fin) Recently i have noticed the other 2 bar the main male have developed egg spots and possible the 3rd one too. Question is with these type can the females have egg spots or does it look like i have ALL MALES? Severly fraustrated! been wondering why they have not bred yet.......
  11. I noticed with my lot when ever i took one out or put one in they started to squabble but calmed down within a day or so. Good luck
  12. could it just be them sorting out a pecking order if they are new fish to the tank? 8)
  13. Hey Afrikan. Nope she has definately got eggs in her mouth. Strange huh? everyone thinks its pretty weird fro them to to cross. JUST IMAGINE IT......a red compressicep LMAO  see what happens whether or not she holds the eggs. keep you posted.
  14. Well I never would have thought this would happen :-? My big female dimidiochromis compressicep has just cross-bred with my large male red zebra! I saw them getting jiggy in my tank last night and doing the whole spawning ritual. This morning she has eggs in her mouth!!!! Whats up with that? I am pretty sure i have a male comp in the tank but is only half the size so why is she not interested in him? Your thoughts would be good if anyone has any Guess they will end up being puffer fish food lol.
  15. Has anyone got any of these fish? Just wondering on what size they have to be roughly before they can breed..... 8)
  16. are those Julichromis Dickfeldi? un-real! i must have had another species of them that looked similar.....put 2 of them in my front tank and the next thing i found was all my fronts herded in one corner, not allowed out
  17. Can you tell me what that rock? white stuff is please smidey, and does that up the ph as well? looks awesome 8)
  18. Ok Thanks. I was not sure you could and i would not want to try just to have them die on me lol. Cheers!
  19. DB male, Maleri male, blue peacock male, Comps, red zebras, acaras, dolphins, pleco are in there at present. Just wanting to know if the others are suitable to go in with them.
  20. Thanks. so afrikan, as you know what fish i have inmy display tank....it would be fine to put in a couple of silver dollars and sharks?
  21. What about silver sharks? any chance of keeping thee in with cichlids? :-?
  22. I hear that silver dollars can be kept with cichlids....please let me know if this is true and maybe what kind of cichlids. :-? what ph can they handle up too? Cheers!
  23. Redwood aquatics have bought some in. there were 5 small ones left last time i was there. Of course that depends if they have bought them into the shop from out the back $13.50 each
  24. My fronts always clear patches too. sure looks like a sign of wanting to breed but according to others they are not suppose to breed for ages yet.... I conclude that they could possibly breed at a certain size but take time to practice before they get a successful batch out? (like discus) I get told that most fish will breed say around 6-8 months if at a certain size so why are fronnies to be said not to be able to breed for up to 5 years? "its a wait and see game" but oh how exciting it would be to see a mouthfull for the first time!
  25. yes majority can hear. I have had quite a few and have found maybe in a litter you would expect maybe one deaf kitten.
