you need to watch if you get internal filter as turtles like to pull them off the wall of tank etc. feed them in seperate tank help heaps.

dont know about you but i can never resist opening my big mouth and telling them or asking them about the vase and why they have the fish in it. sometime people just don't realise until you tell them.

my son has caught tadpoles . i have put them into one of our ponds. have fed some fish food. have some weed in pond not much and have covered half pond out of sun. what do they eat or will some weed and some fish food be enough. also adding fresh water to pond daily via sprinkler. any thing else i need to know?

might sound funny but my baby really cries only when she is pulling her own hair which in a nice mop of black hair, danielle (danielle) took it in her stride. also she five weeks early her due date was 20 dec.

:bounce: we went camping it was a breeze went to nasbey camping ground. baby was really great wee girl. planning to go again in two weeks to queenstown or wanaka. should have left husband behind. set up camp next to two lots of families that we have a coffee with every week for the last six years. talk about gate crash. next time will remember to take coffee cups and spoons. you can take breast fed babies anywhere

who thinks this is a bad idea. camping with a 6 week old baby. in a tent, with a husband who can't put up a tent. but a 6 year old who can.

prob is that its the 24 hour shifts. and no over time being a parent. at least when you at work you get a smoko and lunch break

i'm on maternity leave does that count as still working i still getting paid and doing the work of fifteen mothers

you can get calcium in the turtle food as well. there are little fish things you can buy in a big container these are coated with calcuim. we have rescue turtles at our pre school.... the owner was feeding them cat food. but with t.l.c decent food and lights they are doing really well.

i have used the drop on concrete and stamp method.... i am a real animal lover but couldn't put it in the freezer and keep checking to see if it was dead. would you do that to your pet cat or dog???? no you would have the vet do it..... however you can't do that with a fish take it to the vet!!! so dropping and stamping is fast.... but not pleasent. however my mum has a gold fish that is the lenght of my fore arm in her tank. you couldn't do a drop and stamp with a fish that size.

my fish frooze in the pond with ice all winter up to minus 9 some days not getting above minus 3 good old central otago, however for the last week or so the temp has been getting up to five or so today it managed to get to 18 i guess summer is coming my fish are all fine, as long as you don't break the ice. i guess they hibenate. who knows? but this is what happens to fish in ponds down here, as long as you don't put them into the pond just before winter they survive.

if you are already feeding your turtle live fish to eat wouldn't he think the fish you have put in are to eat as well??

don't know how it happened but i came home from work today and thought i would give the filter one last try. and what do you know turned the taps the water flowed through then plugged her in and off she went couldn't beleive it :bounce: yay!!!!!!!!!!

no luck what so ever have tried again today. typical as it was working ok before i decided to clean it.

how long can the fish survive without a filter??

no haven't done any of that. have tried filling it up before conecting it as well nothing seems to work . when i did it i just turned the taps off before the canister then when i put it back together attached it to the taps again ,,,

now i am managing to get the water out of the tank but it is not going out the outflow bit. am getting water everywhere. turned pump on however the water is not going back into the tank

will get my husband to try sucking on it as i am pregnant and see what happens

no because i put tape on them one time so i would know which was which. everything seems ok but its not taking the water out of the tank
