Hey, i bought 20 odd second hand sponge filters (the big ones that sit in the middle of the tank) many moons back, i threw out the crusty old sponges and kept the good sponges, that only had a few weeks use. Whats the best way to sterilize them to kill any bugs in them??

Hey, I didnt have any peas!! so i went with the mag sulphate (epson salts) option, i seperated him and hes come right, theres another one that looks dodgy. so im thinking it could be what im feeding them. I have been feeding alot of bloodworm and a little mysis shrimp.

Hey, ive got a large male oranda that is upside down in his tank, whenver i come close to the tank (either see or hears me) turns around and starts swiming normaly, happy as. then i go away and come back and he does the same! Hes being doing it since 6am this morning. Any clues with what is going on???

Hi thanks, i talked to a guy from a hardware store he reckons that there is a thick polythene that they can order in. I have have 2 1000L ponds that i am puting orandas in. There is no issue with any toxins from the polythene leaching out into the water??

Can thick black polythene be used as a pond liner??

Ive got 2 grow out tanks that have approx 15 small to medium sized discus in them. tanks are 200litres each. They get a 50% water change in the morning and approx 10% water change (to siphon any crap off the bottom of the tank) in the afternoon. some of the little buggers have just started to swim in a circle quite quickly then may dart around the tank at a great rate of knots. does anyone know why this is happening?? they get a varied diet with quality flake bllodworm mysis shrimp etc. Any help would be fantastic!!

Afternoon everyone. My skimmer has stopped skimming?!?!?! It is still working as such with water going through it etc but it's not collecting any gunk. It has been like this for over a week and I have tried adjusting everything but no luck. Any ideas????

Already have a little group of them which are very cool to watch. We are just up to the next 'stage' of adding more fish as we have been doing really well with what we had and have decided to add more. Any other suggestions?
