:roll: OMG how confusing can this be?? Have just spoken to my LFS and they say thay've never heard of "black spot disease" and to treat with tonic, also likely that i have Altum's but not wild caught ones( Didn't pay enough apparently!!)

Have been doing some research and they are probally "black spot " according to Tim's tropicals, but mainly common in Altums. Mine look like them but have red eyes. Tried taking a photo but they didn't want to co-operate, so left them alone!!!

Used too ? what happened?

I've noticed that my electric yellows are cicrling each other nose to tail and then changing directions. :-? Are they playing or doing the "love dance"? :lol:

Have recently purchased two Angels for my daughters and the larger of them seems to have "Blackheads" on it's sides. Any ideas as to what it could be? They are a pale gold colour with three black stripes and red around their eyes. Had to move them to their own tank after being "nibbled" at!! Cheers for any help....

Hiya, noticed this morning over breakfast that my convicts, which i brought as two females so this wouldn't happen, had fry!! Probally ONLY two dozen or so.. Don't know how i missed it when i cleaned the tank only 3 days ago!! Guess because i thought that they were both female wasn't really looking for eggs!! Having read through past posts on Convict fry, i remove them at about a week, but what do i feed them, microworms or brine shrimp? Any other info would be useful. Cheers B

Hiya, i have three iof them in the same tank and the largest seems to be the one with the ovadepositor. The other two are quiet abit smaller than her. Do they need to be a certain size or age before a successful spawning will happen? Cheers

You were right sharn, they are all gone!!! Fuzz and all!! Hope the next spawning might be more successful!! Thanks for all the advice!!

All my eggs have gone white and are growing a fuzz so i think i've lost the lot!! Mum and Dad still guarding them fiercly though!! Think i'm going to have to remove the eggs aye? Sad but from what you have said they'll have another spawning soon. More luck next time!! Thanks for all your help and info!!

Hiya all and Merry christmas, my angels gave me a christmas pressent-eggs!! ( opps didn't get them anything feel kinda bad!!) I have three angels but now i have a couple of dozen eggs on the side of my filter of all places!! There are definately two that keep "guard" and one of them has what looks like a white egg still attached to it. Is that ok??. Now, from what i understand white eggs are dead? There are a couple in the laid ones that are white. Do i leave them or remove them?? Any help appericated!!!!!

We have wooden floors with no insulation under them yet( hopefully before christmas!) and the tank will be in an open plan lounge.

Thanks for all the help. Would it be better to have one 300 W or two 150's ? One incase of "Failure" ? * touches wood*. It's going to be my new cichlid tank so was thinking of having the temp about 24-26C.

Hiya, am getting a tank 1500x 500 x 550 and wonder if two heaters would be sufficent to keep the temp stable? My new cichlid tank!!!!!!!!!
