  1. I have personally used blu-tak to hold down some veggies so my plecos could eat them. They were perfectly fine. The fish do not get poisoned or anything. Some of them tried to graze on it but it was harmless. It is true that it doesn't stick in water well. It just keeps coming off. Blu-Tak is fine for fish. It even says untoxic. But I would avoid the $2 shop ones. Trust the original ones.
  2. Here is one of my 38 litre tanks. Just to give you some ideas. I have tried Ricca in my other 38L tank but sometimes it can get messy since it floats up everywhere and possibly clog filters. If you are planning to keep it floating then it might make the plants underneath suffer since some plants need stonger light. By the way, you do not need CO2 with Ricca unless you are wanting small bubbles forming on the plant and making it in perfect condition. CO2 will make the Ricca grow much quicker too so you might have a small problem with too much of it! Good luck!
  3. Hi guys, I'm the guy who is selling the Ricca. I am not sure why the price is so high! I had the reserve on $6. I am NOT supplying a CO2 system with it! :-? It just says that I use a JBL CO2 system in the tank. I guess some people need Ricca really badly. And lorrainel, do you still need some Ricca I can send you some for a cheaper price than on TM since this is FNZAS. PM me if you do, I will be happy to help. And does anyone know if Alan is blueandkim on TM? Thanks.
  4. Wow. Nice puffers you got there! Where did ya get them from? How much were they?
  5. Hi people. I found out that when I put on my photobucket site as my signature here, I had to log in... Which means you guys can not view the photos. Does anyone have this problem and can help me out here? Thanks! :bounce:
  6. What a shame Antwan. That male of yours looked very cool. Hope the fry grow well and healthy. Do you still have as many as you did?
  7. Hi ya. What I would do is tie the Ricca onto a small bit of driftwood first. Then let it grow and grow until it starts to grow off the driftwood and onto the gravel. It really worked for me. Having underground heating is a very effective way in getting your plants in tiptop condition and quickly. the heat causes substrate circulation. One negative thing is that it is expensive... Get some substrate fert. as well. That will definately help. Maybe a CO2 unit too. But again, very expensive. :-? Good luck. :bounce:
  8. Wow! Awesome. Go Jansens~ :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: (I really gotta get myself some Apisto. Trifasciata... :-? )
  9. Thanks. Yes, I don't know too many types of cories but out of the ones I know, Schwartz has to be my favourite. I have 10 at the moment.
  10. That is really a large tank there. So where is the National Aquarium thingy? Might want to have a look.
  11. Thought I would just put up a pic of these beauties!
  12. Hi people. Thought I would post some pics too. Enjoy! :bounce: School of Schwartz Cories Flagtail Catfish Royal Whiptail Golden Black-eyed Ancistrus :bounce:
  13. Congrats on the eggs. Just protect them from any bottom dwelling fish that are brave enough to barge in there. And protect the eggs against fungus. You really got to watch the female and male (like caserole said) so the female doesn't attack the male..One of my dwarfs did that and now the male doesn't want to breed anymore! :-? Good Luck with hatching.. :bounce: :bounce:
  14. If you have some loaches they will clear most of it. Good luck.
  15. Wow...good work on the fry! Mine had laid eggs a week ago too but I wasn't as lucky. The eggs disappeared..(well..eaten by the female I guess) Can I get some help from you KtttK? Maybe some info like your ph, nitrate levels..? And what fish do you have in the tank with the nannas? Thanks guys!
  16. Cool. Can you PM me if your Inka50 are ready Bilbo? Cheers. I will keep in touch.
  17. I saw these guys at Jansens in Glenfield. And I got a pair of these guys myself too. There was a pair in the tank that had eggs too. They had laid eggs on a piece of driftwood. The female had turned very dark. The eggs are very unique. They are almost perfectly round. The female was very aggressive to the other tank members. I just had to get a pair too. I have them in a small tank at the moment. The male is quite aggressive to the female I have to say though...the male is also very brave fighting off bigger fish than him.
  18. Does anyone have some Inca 50 dwarf cichlids that they are willing to sell please? Thanks.
  19. I am planning to upgrade my tank into a larger one. I am planning on getting a 480L custom made tank. If I have a 500 watt metal halide light for the 480L tank, would it be too much lighting? I will have a JBL CO2 system going with ground fert and liquid ferts. Also substrate heating. Thanks.
  20. I would say Jansens in Silverdale or on the North Shore. Hollywood fishfarm has gets some every few weeks but I would say Jansens has the most diverse Apistogrammas. I went to the one on the North Shore today and they had some Cockatoos, Agassizis, Nannacaras and this other one I forgot the name of.
