  2. Hey. im looking for an air pump to run about 5 sponge filters and 3 air stones but im not too sure how big id need. How many Litres per minute would i be looking at? anyone got some sort of idea. It doesn't necessarily need to be real quiet or anything either Thanks

  5. Welcome dcase. you will find heaps of good info here, but as Afrikan said, might be best to start a new thred in the 'freshwater' section as you will probably get more replys. Heres the totally tanked thread that loopy was talking about http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/yay-ju ... 22367.html

  11. I think the two main things that alter their colouring is mood and environment.
  12. Oh no, im very sorry for you. My advice for the remaining things would be to keep the water changes up, every day do a 20 ish percent one with some nice water, and dont stress them any further; you may have to turn the light on their tank off and/or cover it up partially with a dark blanket etc. Hope all goes well, and keep us updated!
  13. LOL. I think i saw them on planetcatfish but im not sure so yea, maybe someone more experienced with cats will contribute (hopefully) EDIT: look at that, a quick google and you end up with this; the Parotocinclus jumbo, LDA-25 8)
  14. "Pit bull plecos" were available 5 or 6 months back. They were around 2-3cm's long and were only about $20. they arent in any shops these days as i think it was a one off shipment.... They may become available once again in the future, but you never know People mainly know them as 'pitbull plecos' because thats what the shops called them.... Shops should use scientific names!!!
  15. I love my little white magnet.....
  16. Ohk, 250L tank, 1 senegalus bichir, 2 hoplos, 11 corys (8 Albino, 3 Bronze) only in there temporarily until i can catch them lol, bronzes laying eggs constantly, hundreds of bay corys in a seperate container floating in tank, plus another few hundred eggs...... 60L killie tank, divided in two. 3 korthausae yellow (2f , 1m) on one side and 2 female australe chocs on the other side (my male australe died ) They are constantly laying eggs but im not hatching them yet cos i dont have anywhere to put them once they are bigger etc, so im waiting until my brother moves out (next weekend!!!) and i can make my room a fish room! and take his room as my own lol. then i will setup another two footer as another divided killie tank.... Um, 50L cube tank, covered in plants, baby wild mollies and baby BN in a breeding net, 5 gold pencils, 4 harlequins, pair kribs plus heaps of BN and a clown plec (all in this tank temporarily until i take the firemouths and stuff out of the next tank.... 100L tank, 3 small firemouths, 2 small Uaru, 4 big GBA, 1 large male keyhole.... all in this tank temp until they go into the 250L tank and the fish etc in the 50L go into this tank.... Corys will also go back into this tank once i take them out of the big tank. Plus mum has a 20L tank which i own but she looks after and it has a pair of platys, a big male krib, a BN and 2 small albino corys. She also has another small tank which has 50 odd baby platys in it and 2 albino corys.... Thats that!
  17. Remove the other fish or the angels ASAP.... you have heaps of spare tanks
  18. Have you bothered to search the internet? theres HEAPS of pages telling you how to do it, and all you need to do is a quick google search. But you will need a suitable bottle, a diffuser, a line from the bottle to the tank, lots of sugar, lots of water, and yeast.... thats pretty much it. google 'DIY co2' or something and you should find a step by step guide on how to do it somewhere. HTH EDIT: wold ya look at that Heres a couple good pages that should help you... good ol' google! http://www.qsl.net/w2wdx/aquaria/diyco2.html and http://www.plantedtank.net/articles/DIY-Yeast-CO2/7/
