  1. Getting BLV bulbs is not budgeting... They are one of the most expensive MH bulbs available in the market.
  2. Ahhh... That's what you mean by solid core. Thanks mate!

    HPS ballast

Hey all, I have 2 X 250WATT BLV tubes and i believe they run on HPS ballast. Where can i find such ballast here in NZ and is there electronic HPS ballast version available here? As far as i'm concerned, a lot of ppl are using Magnetic.

    Golden Angel

Bought a very very rare fish yesterday. The Golden Angel! Here's a picture from the internet. It looks exactly the same. The fish is adapting to my tank at the moment. Awesome buy i reckon!
  9. Yea i'm in Aussie, should have changed my location. I bought this acan because i saw your threat Laton, LOL! and it happened that they have this really nice one at the LFS. There are other acans, faviates etc.. etc... but they are mostly green.
  10. Hey guys, for those who still remember me. I'm in Sydney now for more than half a year... And hadbeen going around window shopping and still am at the aquarium stores around here. Let me tell you, almost every suburbs here have an aquarium store and 80% of them do have marine setups. Within 25km of where i live, I am surrounded by approx. 10 fish stores that do sell marine fish, corals etc... If you guys like, i could take more pics at different LFS. if i have time... I recently purchased a Red Sea Max, too tempted with the price here in AUS and the amount of fish stores they have and also coral selections. and the red sea max is about close to half the price of what the fish stores are selling in NZ. Well, i negotiated with the store owner. So i got that price. But anyway, I will post some pictures up later but not now. I managed to take some pictures from my phone at one of the LFS. Yellow tang for AUS69. "How cheap can these get" Apparently this LFS offers the cheapest yellow tang. Archelles Tang? Not sure how you spell it. Accros for sale. Approx AUS40 - AUS45 each. One of their display tank Red Sea Max running at the store. Who mentioned that it will be good for FOT?
  11. Volkster, You might wanna check out this website from Australia. http://www.psifilters.com.au/Reverse%20Osmosis%20Laundry.htm In particular, check out the PSI-019B-DI or the PSI-020B-DI-GM. I got myself the PSI-019B-DI with TDS meter. Literally all of the reefers from Aussie buys the RO/DI unit from this guy. You get a 10% discount if you are a member of the forum from http://www.masa.asn.au/phpBB2/. Good service and a great guy to talk to. Shipping from Tasmania to NZ shouldn't cost too much. Should be a lot cheaper than US and easier to get parts too.
  12. I have photoshop CS2. What's all the big fuss about photoshoping? As long as you are not rendering the saturation or hue etc... I think it's fine. I photoshoed my pictures mainly to make them sharper and also to resize them. Sometimes i might brighten or correct the RBG spectrum of the picture to match what it is meant to look like in our tank. Raech, i can tell that your images are not photoshoped. Don't really need to state that.

  16. lol... my salinity was at 1.028 - 1.029 before too and swing arm gave me wrong readings. But my cleaner and fire shrimp were fine under these salinity. I got my refractometer cheap... $50 if i remember, i had a mate from HK who brought it over for me.

    Reefs Reef Tank

The last pic looks very grainy, is that shot with 1600 ISO?
  18. You know what? It makes Kelly Tarlton looks like a piece of junk and not worth visiting at all. I'd rather pay US$50 and visit the Georgia Aquarium. It only took me like 15 mins to go through Kelly Tarlton.
  19. If you are really on a TIGHT budget! I don't think starting up a marine tank will help. I have a 2.5 foot tank and my budget was $1000 and OH BOY.... was i wrong! So be prepared to spend more $$$ and here's a pic of how my tank looked like 1 - 2 months ago. I initially had 2 NEMOS. One got sucked in by my EHEIM compact powerhead!! stupid thing $#@%$@ and the other jumped out of my tank while i was away from home back in my country!! Good luck with your new tank! And for those who've seen my thread. I am going to get a new lens soon and i'll take better photos for you guys to enjoy.
