no that actually sounds bout right.my tank has a lot of shit on the bottom and well i feel real bad.i want to put them in the new tank as soon as possible.do you think even though i havent had my water checked that it will be fine to put fish in.its clean!,tapwater with 4 capfuls aquaplus and 4+1/2 capfuls of cycle and has been going for 4 days.has plants which is still looking good.do you think the fish will be okay in it?

its on the floor of the tank now upside down breathing real hard.its dying but i aint worrying now.my new tanks all setup now and the waters at 25 degrees.when the neon dies i'll put the other fish in the new tank.i havent tested my water yet so i dont know if its okay.its tapwater with 4 capfuls aqua plus and 4+1/2 capfuls cycle been going since saturday.do you think it would be okay to put my fish in now.i'll put the heater in first of course but the tanks got good filtration and my other tank is really dirty on the bottom.do you think i should take the chance and risk it?

is it possible to treat those conditions?if yes is it anything that can be treated with something from home perhaps?

yeah alright.i'll see what i can do.you wouldnt know what a white fungi growing over neon tetras eyes is do yah.one of my neons has it.the last one that had it was a couple of months ago and it died.can you help?

i had a neon die of the same problem a couple of months ago.does anyone know what it is?

how do i get rid of them tho?i cant kill them.

one of my neon tetras has a foggy white mouldy algae covering his right eye and seems stressed as his mouth is opening and shutting fast.can anyone help?

okay then so shae do you think a school of 6 should stop them upsetting other fish.

thats a good reason then as to why they would see other fish as a threat

hi motherofmany, found a page that might help you with your frog gender issue http://members.aol.com/sirchin/frog2.htm and read the paragraph and then read the bit where it says "For more information and photos on determining your frog's sex visit here" and it shows you the difference between the different genders.I dont know why he lost his black pads tho :-?

all the plants are in my new tank and look great but another would look good perhaps a java fern.although the tank isnt heated at present it sits at around 23-25 degrees celcius so it shouldnt take long for the heater to heat up the tank.does anyone know if java fern grows fast?

yeah apparently neons are a delicacy for angels or so i am told

well i have two of them and well one of my danios not long after i got it i think had its tail munched off cos it looks like a pirahnas had the tail in its mouth and has chewed it off to the skin.Quite sad really but all the others are fine.Do you think i should just leave it at two swift rasboras and not get any more.Hopefully since theres larger numbers of the others that the two rasboras will leave them alone :-? The rasboras though dont seem to hastle any fish well not that i have seen.perhaps those two munched on its tail during the night or something?i dont know The danio still swims okay tho.

Thats great to hear that BJ is getting on with his tankmate Santa.yeah i suppose i have been on a bit of an endevour.I really had no idea what i was doing but now thanks to people on this forum i have a greater knowledge on how to care for fish,how to pick the right fish and plants and a little help on what and how to decorate a fish tank.Your son is lucky to be getting a new fish tank setup.What kind of idea do you have in mind for his tank if you dont mind saying so?Im glad that you found BJ in the end.I know how worrying it is when you cant find a fish and i speak from experience.I was doing my first ever water change and well i'd taken 20% water out and replaced with 20% freshwater and well i went to put my ornaments back in as i had wanted to take the stickers off them which i had forgotten to do and well anyways i was counting up my fish to make sure i hadn't accidentally sucked up any fish and well i was missing one so i recounted and still couldnt get the magic 15 number only 14 so i was rushing to the bucket and checking for my missing glowlight but no matter how many times i searched for it i couldnt see it and it wasnt til i was sitting on my bed looking at my fish tank upset about this fish when i realized i might have squished it when i put the ornament back in so i reached in afraid of the outcome and pulled up the ornament and out hastly went my glowlight i had been looking for.I must of placed the ornament right on it and so well i felt soooo guilty and was watching it like a hawk to make sure it wasnt hurt and well til this very day it still swims around normally but now i dont remove the ornaments cos im scared that i might squish another and well yeah one of my few fish heart throbbing, tears down my face moments :oops:

mum wants me to get some guppies and i quite like the fancy guppies but i want to know first if i might have any problems with my rasboras and danios as im not sure if they'll be fin nippers towards the guppies.can anyone help out?

your parents must be nice to let you have a 4ft tank!Im 16 and well wanted a 4ft tank but had to settle with only a 2 footer.In my other lil tank i had like only 3 of each(zebra danios,glowlights,neons,black neons and 2 swift rasboras plus a suckermouth catfish)and i can tell they want more of each other to play with so im getting 3 more of each so they total to 6 of each.The more the better im told.Serpae tetras are great too(getting some tomorrow)and they look interesting.But yeah there is a big range of fish to choose.Good luck in finding the ones you like.I find picking which ones to have to be the hardest.

it must be something seeing fish playing in bubbles.im hoping now that my tetras will play with the bubbles coming from my bubble wall when i add them to the new tank this afternoon.
