do you guys find guppies to get along with tetras and danios and rasboras okay?

oh and i forgot to say that i have a bubble wall plus powerhead filter and filter in the fishtank hood so that should get enough filtration and circulation through the tank.the powerhead has a spray arm thing that produces a slow flow around the tank.Does anyone have those master testing kits that are like $50 that you can get from animates cos i wanna know if they are worth getting.

thanks suphew.yeah wetpets do charge.you can buy 20L containers there for $5 and well its $1 for filling a 20L container and anycontainer bigger is a donation.They have a tap outside at the back full of aquarium water so you just go in and pay $1 for 20L or donation and fill er up!I think though its like $2 for 50L and the rest is donation.Oh and i think its just recycled aquarium water from what they use that you (customers) get.

thanks for that jammos sorry about your fish i agree with alan in saying that you should tell the council that fishkeepers are using the water and that they should make the public aware of when they are adding stuff to the water cos well we dont want innocent fishies "burning" to death or being killed off by chemical overdoses.I dont have any fish in my new tank yet but the water in it is being tested wednesday so from then on when it comes to water changes i'll stick to using wetpets water cos i dont want to run the risk of loosing fish.Thanks jammos i think you may have just saved me hundreds. :Doh and what kinda filter do you use jammos?

thanks alanmin4304. ive just put them in my new tank and have put the light on.hopefully that should heat up the water a little or at least make the plants a bit more comfy in the cold tank.

hi deleatidium, im from palmy and i had been getting my water from wetpets as they said to use theirs and that palmy tap water aint good until last saturday when i was told at animates that you could use tapwater.talking about leading newbie confused teens astray.So with my new tank anyways i have used palmy tap water and aqua plus and cycle.getting tests done wednesday so i'll let you know if mines fine too

so its okay to put the plants in now?.they'll only be in there til wednesday when the heater and fish are added.does the water pH or whatever affect the plants?

I bought some borneo sword and hairgrass plant and some other one thats got twisty leaves and well i want to know if i can put them in my new tank?My new tank has gravel,water,ornaments,bubble wall,powerhead filter and well no heater as i have my heater in my old tank with the tropical fish.Ive had to place the plants in my little tank as i dont know if i can put the plants in my new tank yet?I have to wait til wednesday after ive had the water checked to see if its okay for fish.I thought that since there is no fish giving off CO2 then i shouldnt put them in the new tank yet.What should i do?Oh and the temp of water without the heater is sitting on 22-23 degrees celcius in the tank if that helps?So i suppose you im asking if you can put plants in 22-23 degree water and without fish for a few days and then when i can add fish.

hey simfish.i went to animates today and was shown the bubble walls by plecs(another user of this forum)and she showed me the blue bubble wall which is cool so i'll buy that tomorrow.thanks for you(simfish) and mysticvampyres help with the bubble wall dilema. :bounce: thanks

WOW Those are some pretty cool pics simfish.Very interesting pieces of driftwood I really like how you've planted your plants too!Did it take long to get the plants where you wanted?How does the undergravel heating work?Have you used air stones before?I was thinking of getting one for my new tank but a not sure if my fish would like it :-? Well done to you though for the effort you put into your tank.It looks great and very natural!

cool,thanks guys it was just that i saw a 165L tank with two heaters so i got a little worried in thinking that i would have to buy another heater too

im getting a new fish tank on saturday and i think its about 150L and i was wondering if a fluval tronic 150W heater will do the trick.Im just confused because some people have two in their tanks. :oops:
