  1. Well, this moring at nine THey were on my doorstep for the second round. Pffff, looks like the middle of the night, had to switch on the lights especially for them (one hour earlier) Now I have to wait till march to know what they think of it  This is how the big tank looks like now: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a176/ ... strict.jpg (only a link, because I THINK the foto is to large???)
  2. Wel hard work indeed. Now I have to keep the tanks on this level (or better higher) for the next round (disctrictkeuring). So I've to work even harder
  3. So, after my holliday I have to post the results Well I got lucky. The big tank is first in its category and first overall. The small tank is first in it's category en second overall :bounce: :bounce: YES!!!!!!!
  4. I have lots of very good sites (but in Dutch). For plant people the next (english) sites are very good: http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide.php http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/
  5. That will do I guess. Not really it will work out the CO2 created by your fish also, remember the air only has 0.036 % CO2 or something like that.
  6. I wouldn't use a sump with a planted tank, there is no need for it, and the sump allows a lot of CO2 te escape. you don't want that, your plants won't like that. Go with a cannister. Regarding lightning i couln't say for shure, it kinda depends on the frequenties the bulbs are emitting, but 13000K is a bit to much imho. That is real reef stuff. tha highest I get is A 6,5K lamp that would be better, but the 4k type is used here a lot above planted tanks (Philips 840 TL). A fluidised sand filter on a freshwater tank is not a bad idea, that type of filter dont eat a lot of NO3 what is one of the things your plants need badly :-)
  7. OW no problem (if I can get one ). If you like I do have it from the two tanks above also I'll do that. The tank is scheduled to arrive begin next year so... Time enough to think about the scape
  8. Yes indeed, those three rocks are petrified wood. That is very hard to get here, but I finally found 4 pieces, only used three. First I had yellow/orange but that didn't do it. No prob's but be warned I have to update the project of the big tank, I think it is stuck somewhere in 2004, but i;ll be doing that in the near future. big tank (link to my site): http://aquaclopedie.dyndns.org/bak/index.html small tank, this is one of two tanks next to each other in my study (link to my auqariumforum): http://www.venividivissie.org/viewtopic ... 26&start=0 The last layout should be somewhere around page 14 I think. I'll be getting a bigger tank in the near future, perhaps it is nice to put the whole proces of scaping it in a topic here? It wont be an Amano nor a dutch tank, but my own style
  9. Yes I do to, I have 25 of them, great fish.
  10. Last saterday it was again time to let the "NBAT-keurmeester" judge my tanks for the first stage of the national competition. I wasn not completely satisfied with the tanks, but never the less I thought they where not looking that bad. The "Keurmeester" (judge) was in front of my tanks longer than planned, so I have a feeling it will be OK. Hopefully enough to get me to the next round I still have to upload the final pictures, but these give you an idea (only links 'cause of size limitation): http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a176/ ... _klein.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a176/ ... ma2311.jpg
  11. YES! http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org/2 ... ol=2&id=64 Very great, Jan "gefeliciteerd"
  12. I dont know the specific Glyceria but I grow Glyceria maxima in my tanks for years, no problems at all.
  13. Welcome here, seems more and more europeans find this site
  14. Oops, I keep forgetting almost any lifeform not native is forbidden
  15. Yes, I've done that to, but with X-mas moss. If you dump some shrimp in your tank they will LOVE it. Here the are constantly in/on the moss tied to the wood
