Grizzly

hollywood in albany hav good gold rams. so i bought a pair from there. after 24 hours they laid eggs! but eggs are gone already :lol:

the first Port hoplo cat we had was caught by one of the cats who liked fishing. the cat was playing with him oin the floor when we found it. poor Grizzly looked like a dry turd. well, we chucked him back in the tank and after a little while he began swimming around like normal again. apparently they are able to breath air. lucky him

damn, i just sold my males for $1 each. im left with 3 breeding females now lol.

well im inteding on only having the cichlid pair and the 3 khuli's and the baby bristle noses in the tank. all the gold rams i have seen apear to be deformed. or is that just teh way they are?

ok thanks so they prefer a slightly warmer temperature?

im keen on getting a pair of Apistogramma cichlids for my 2' tank. i am tossing up between: agassizi, cockatoo or a blue or gold ram. what are your experiences with these. And where might i find these at a reasonable price?? cheers

umm we have a big roll of it behind one of our sheds . most farm supply shops and plumbing shops should have it. it feels pretty hard and plasticy. with the help of a heat gun it bends well. the pump i scavenged from my Trio ??2000?? filter. it has a variable output, im only using the smallest setting. Theres sumthing like a 50mm water level difference.

Today i decided to get the small convicts out of my 2' tank. i want to use that tank to try breed some nice dwarf cichlids soon. However i had nowhere to put these fish, then i remembered that my brother had a smal 1'x1'x1' tank that he uses to store his aquarium stuff in. i was kind enough to give/lend it to me. My next delema was that i had no spare heaters. so i decided id make some sort of cascading system. I used a bit over .5m of that black pipe (ID-12mm). Im not sure of what its proper name is. 3 cable ties and a small powerhead. The pipe was divided into two sections. The first was used as a 'siphon' to equalise the water levels, where as the next was used to pump water from the small tank into the larger one.

Two of the three pairs of convicts in my tank mave fry. and among one of those lots there are a handful of white ones. is this a common thing to occur from just the normal dark variety adults??

i've had fish for about 5 years i think. i finally have my big tank looking good. i always hada bit of trouble with where to place stuff. It also used to have some really crap gravel. so about a month ago i went out and bought a big bag of dark gravel. i think it looks much better because of it. I decided to spary paint the back fo the take black, it just helps to give a good contrast i think. At the moment i have sets of you in that tank (both convicts) and in one of the lots it looks like there might be albine convicts???? ill take a picture soon and show you.

hey all, im Nick, i live in Warkworth (north or auckland). im a student at AUT. i have 2 tanks - 950Lx450Dx550H containing an unstopable palgue of convicts, a pair of texas cichlids, a pleco and a black shark - 600x300x300 containing some young convicts and 3 baby bristlenoses. and i also have a port hoplo cat (named Grizzly) in my borthers tank keeping the Arowana and Oscar company.
