  1. Awesome my Marleri Julies have paired and spawned. They are spawning every week or so and having about 20 or 30 fry each time have several fry now varying in size from 2 to 5mmSorry to bore you all just wanted to share as this is all new to me and am enjoying watching them guard and look after there fry instead of them eating them or abandoning which seems to happen with most other fish.
  2. No vet cares about fish or any other people for that matter besides us lot that come here. If I say at work that one of my fish died I usally get " Its only a fish get over it " of some lame remark like that. And also if you get excited telling people about whats happening in your tank they look at you as if your a nutcase. In short don't think anyone but hobbists such as ourselves give a rats ass about fish.
  3. My local water supply contains sodium flouride and I use it in my tanks. It doesnt seem to affect my fish, but was just wondering if anyone knew or had theories on its affects on our fine finned friends. I know there is a debate about if its any good for people some recon its great others say its crap. WHAT DO YOU THINK ???

  5. Hi everyone. Has now come time to purchase a pump for my wet/dry filter so went poking around.... I can get a Eheim 1060 which pumps about 2260ltrs/hr (600 gallons) for $245. Not bad I thought, But then I found a SICCE SUPREMA which pumps 4000ltrs/hr (1000 gallons) for the same price or so close its not worth mentioning. Now I have heard that Eheim are very good pumps but know nothing about SICCE their web site says that they are awesome but all websites say that there products are awesome. Does anyone know anything about SICCE quality if so can you let me know also which pump do ya recon would be better for my 150 gallon aquarium I like the sound of the higher turnover but am unsure about the brand. If it does twice as much for half the price does that mean its crap or am I just paying heaps for the Eheim name. Thanks for any Help and sorry this is such a Book of a message.

  7. You don't put salt into the tank when you are replacing water from evapouration, as the salt stays in the tank. But if you dump 25 % of your water and put clean in then you put enough salt in for the 25% you replaced. Hope that makes scence.
  8. I'm investagating FBF's can anyone give me any opinions on them???? Does anyone know if they can be purchased in our corner of the world??? Does anyone have or know a good DIY for one??? Cheers for any Help
