    Trout

Trout must be keeped in a large tank at a temp of 8C to 15C (so a chiller or air-con room is a must), a neutral pH is best but 6.7 to 8.2 is OK. They like a strong current and very highly oxygenated water 5.0 ppm+ (bring a river fish) so put a few powerhead's ect... in the tank. (and use a BIG filter, sump ect...) and air pumps. They are also very territorial so lot's of rock's and hiding place's are a good idea.
  4. Fertilized eggs look transparent, non-fertilized eggs turn white (remove the bad ones as they will grow fungus which may spread to the good ones) Use a sponge filter in the fry tank.

    ID please

Cigar Shark (Leptobarbus hoevenii) . I think
  6. Goldfish eggs take about 5day at 21C, 7days at 18C. To give the fry the best chance to survive you should bring the water level down to 15cm (so they do not get crushed by the weight of the water). Once they have hatched they will feed on their yolk sack for about 3days, When they have finished their yolk sack start feeding them small foods like BBS, microworms, liquid food, crushed hard boiled egg yolk, crushed flake food, ect...
  7. Ive been using king 3's in my sump's for about a year with out any problems.
  8. Great Twin-Bar yellows there Keri Anne.
  9. Once they reach 10cm in shell length they can be reduced to one feed per day.

  11. Have a look here: http://guppyinfo.com/index.php?option=c ... gory&cid=1
  12. Great photos (I want a new camera, lol)... great lyretail mollies too.
  13. Look's like a red tuxedo guppy. (With dots on its tail) http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m263/fishman_027/Aquarium030.jpg Have you got any better quality pic's???
  14. You can get non-hatching (dead) and hatching (live) decapsulated bbs. I use non-hatching.
  15. Yeah a 1.5 litre coke bottle. To keep the temp at 26°C you can put a light bulb next to the bottle or put the bottle in a heated tank.
  16. Use a coke bottle with its bottom cut off and about 1 1/2 tablespoons of rock salt. Keep it at about 26°C for 24 hours. Hatching Brine Shrimp For most of my young fish i now use decapsulated bbs. (no hatching needed )
  17. Guppies take about 3 to 4 months to mature.
  18. I may have some line breed guppies you may be interested in. (what do you have to swap me???)
  19. It's been (sort of) documented by respected breeders to be proven. Ive had 2 drops thats given me fry from 2 different strains, so can say it is true.
  20. Is this the "top secret strain" you were talling me about. 8)
  21. Yes, there is 8 loachs, 6 albino cory, 1 placo, in a 200L tank.
  22. I have about 8 half-banded loaches (same as khuli loach) in a community tank. They just eat whatever they can find, Great fish for clean up the liftovers that get stuck in between rocks & gravel.
  23. Female guppies can store sperm for upto six months. If you put the new male in with the female immediately after she has given birth (with in 3 day) she should get preg from the new males sperm (and old males sperm) giving you a mix of fry from the 2 strains. The faster you put the new male with the female the more desired fry you'll get. day1: 75% desired fry day2: 50% desired fry day3: 25% desired fry
  24. The one's fishnature sells are non-hatching decapsulated eggs.
  25. I use them for all my young fish. They are alot easyer and faster than hatching your own when feeding lots of fish. Just let some eggs sit in water for about 10min than feed. (I get mine from fishnature too)
