  1. Thanks everyone. I'll be sure to check out the clubs as soon as I get the time. I'm trying to get Webshots working at the mo' but it doesn't seem to sending the activation code to my e-mail address?? Might have to try another site to upload photos with. Anyone know/can suggest the best one to use?
  2. We have had our tank only 12 days and have already enjoyed reading many helpful posts. Hope we can add to the wealth of knowledge in the future. Cheers Everyone!!
  3. We have : 10 neons, 4 gourami (opaline, pearl, blue and a gold), 2 plecos (4" each at the moment), and 4 clown loaches, all in a 4' tank with approx 285litres. Tank has been up and running for 12 days and the fish were placed in there with along with five young plants (an Amazon Sword and four others), in the past week. Will I have an ammonia spike? All tests have been done daily for the first week then every 2nd day and everything seems to be okay so far. We have only done one 20% water change on Monday. Does this sound OK? BTW also setting up a 40L quarantine tank for future use. Cheers.
  4. Thanks very much. You've both put my mind at ease. I feel I must apologise for the lameness of my earlier pun. lol. And thanks for the welcome Billaney.
  5. Just setting up a new tank and wondering if a 150W heater will be too powerful for a 40 litre tank? Don't want the temp to be rocketing up as soon as the heater comes on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! (or should I say Tanks? heeheehee hohoho hahaha... puff... wheeze... I crack me up)
  6. We're fairly new to this hobby/pastime, but we had two female gold gourami and one bullied the other to the point where she wouldn't come out from behind the filter unless she was chased out. We took the dominant one back and put in a blue, an opaline and a pearl gourami. The gold took a couple of days to get used to the others, but has now stopped hiding and mingles nicely. She still has the odd nip at the blue, but we have a 4 foot tank with lots of hiding places and none are very stressed at the moment. A couple of the people I have talked to, say the golds are a bit more aggressive than the others, and ours is definitely the dominant one, but she loves our pearl gourami and the tank seems to be a fairly happy place for all. We also have two small plecos, 10 neons and four clown loaches in there. Perhaps a few more dwarf gourami in your tank will make your one feel less stressed and bring him/her out of her funky mood. Good Luck!
