iv got a problem my daphina keeps crashing help

A little more detail would help. What sort of container are they in? Inside or outside? A lot of daphnia in it, or a little?

a pritty good amount down the side of the house in a 120 fish bin

I wonder if they get to be too many in the container, lack of oxygen, so the whole lot goes?

Toxins or high temperature? Some species of Daphnia are sensative to temps over 30 degrees so if the weather is hot that might be the culprit. Also, they are very, very sensitive to toxins and heavy metals in the water.

I kept mine in a large triangular fibreglass fish pond. They were in full sun all day every day and on the north side of the house so high temps weren't a problem for the ones I kept. A different species perhaps.

Did you use an air pump outside Caryl?

If no chance of toxins

I'd suggest high temps, even commercial suppliers cant deliver atm due to the high temps, leave the culture alone and when teh wheather cools I'd suggest they will come back on their own.

daphnia are a struggle to me.., I end up with some white little tiny bugs that swim all around the bin, and loads of wiggle worms..I guess they are good enough for the fish to feed on .
