KP
The skimmer's recommended water throughput is 800L/hr. Eheim 1248 = 600L/hr Eheim 1250 = 1200L/hr There will only be around 400mm of head. Which pump should I use? 1248 with a valve on the skimmer output for backpressure to lift the water level 1250 with a valve to throttle it back a bit KP
tel
go the largest. is it possible to tee off excess for another use?
KP
Can tee it but there is no real use for the excess flow in my sump. Might have to get me another gadget to use the extra flow
tel
what about simple water movement to keep things suspended so they can be skimmed?

Ira
Yeah, definitely go with the bigger one. You can always restrict a bigger pump(I think they usually use less power too when restricted) but you can't supercharge a smaller pump.
