My deltec sounds like a plan landing....

Yoinks... have you tried some filter wool under the pump?

Other thing to try, is take the pump out, submerse it in the tank and turn it on, make sure it's totally silent just pumping water (i.e. the impellor/needlewheel isn't loose on the shaft). If that's all quiet, you just have a vibration issue, which should be findable without too much trouble by pressing on different parts of the plastic and seeing if it goes away.

you could try pulling it apart again . removed the needle pin wheel assembly .repacked the rubber bush assembly with vaseline and re-assemble . also rubber sponge under the pump could help .

contact Deltec for some replacement bushes and damping kit .

Try covering the venturi hose with your finger and see if that stops the noise. Since that's the only thing that might make a loud whine like a 747 sounds like when it's landing. From the ground anyway, otherwise they're usually pretty quiet.:)

Cover the air intake hose on a needle wheel pump and it will whine even more, from cavitation on the needles.

No it doesn't. The pump sound from the pump doesn't change at all and the whistling from the valve on the venturi disappears(Obviously)
