BK
Was thinking about putting one in my Discus planted tank. Temp range from 28-32 degrees. Would this handle these temps.

Jolly
Yeah same here... Mine was a runner off antwan's and is in 30 Degrees too. Has grown from 3 small leaves to 12 large ones in about 2 and a half weeks - and is now about to send out a runner of its own! So you will be fine Joel
JoandWilly
Why is mine only growing about 3cm high but has huge leave's is this cause my substrate isn't deep enough or something else?
Plantman
Hi Joandwilly huge leaves is what most people is going for. some is as large as your hand extended out. if you have a strong current flow, it does give it a swaying motion. you have done well if you have huge leaves. nothing is wrong with your substrate. if the leaves continue to climb to the top, it shows that there is not enough light for the plant, thus the height. for big leaves, it need good lighting and fertiliser. CO2 will certainly helps heaps.
Jolly
Yeah JoandWilly, mine is only about 5cm off the ground too with lots of big leaves. They look best when they stay low too, otherwise they begin to look tangled and unstructured IMO. Cheers plantman

evilknieval69
I thought they sent shoots to the top before they send out baby plants... thats what i was told anyway... Mine has palm sized leaves on it most around the 6-7 cm height from the bottom, and then it sent out some big leaves to the surface, and now i have 4 baby plants from it...... Plantman
thanks for that, so i need more light my leafs are palm size [just measured one 21cm] but most of them keeps going to the surface. anyone else notice the ones make it to the top are bright red underneath? u can get them at hollywood and jansens. if the leaves keeps growing to the top, cut off those excessive one. those that touches the surface water and you do not want to have many of those as they will block out your light for the other plant. Not to worry, this is the pruning process for tiger lotus. you will see new shoot coming out as you prune more often. Cheer
