Luke*
I have the ViaAqua750 which I'm pretty sure is now the CF1200 Aqua One (rebranded). Good points: goes perfectly, zero noise, has gone for about 3 years straight, straight forward and easy to use, huge biological capacity Not so good points: average flow rate (is a heavily planted tank though), can be hard to 'get going', or prime, don't seem to be able to get replacement parts..I broke the intake piece of plastic, luckily the ehiem piece fits Hope this helps

Caryl
I don't know about the other but I love my Jebo filters.
handy-andy
I'm a bit late with my reply, but always better late than never! I recently purchased an Aqua One CF1200. My other option was the Jebo 819 but the CF1200 was more readily available in Chch and I got a better price, plus it included filter media. I'm very pleased with it so far. It was easy to assemble and started without any difficulty. I have not yet had it apart for cleaning filter media. I'll be surprised (and disappointed!) if it proves difficult to restart. Came with plenty of accessories, including two spray bars that joined together span the entire length of my 3ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft tank. Flow rate is excellent, and it's very quiet. I used some of the supplied flexible hosing (cut into 2 inch long sections) to join the various bits of hard piping and elbows together; they fit more snugly than the hard plastic joiners supplied. I haven't used a Jebo 819, but I'd happily recommend the Aqua One CF1200 based on my experience with it so far.
Caryl
My Jebos both came with filter media. Do you have them down there that don't? I have never seen them without media included. I know Fluval used to sell with and without media.
handy-andy
Sorry - the "Jebao" filter (that I was also considering) from the deepblue website didn't include filter media.
Jo1
We set up a CF1000 on a 180 litre tank the other day and felt it was almost too powerful. Initially had the spraybar going but because the plants were moving too much we took the end cap off and put a little funnel like attachment on to the end of the spraybar. This was a great improvement. The CF1000 has only 2 baskets but still managed to add carbon as well as the supplied media. The filter was easy to set up. We usually use Eheims which aren't as powerful but imho still the best. I think if the tank is being circulated 3 times an hour it is enough so you may find a smaller model would be adequate and save you a few dollars. DeepBlue
Sorry - the "Jebao" filter (that I was also considering) from the deepblue website didn't include filter media. The Jebao canister comes with filter media now. Also some new canister filter will be out soon. Cheers Ben
antwan
I bought my via aqua 650 (now CF1000) still runs excellently since i bought it over a year ago. Yes, it does only have two baskets, but i think that's enough, definately enough space for all the media i use. Mine did come with media and im still using it (noodles and coarse sponge). I would recommend this filter to anyone...it's cheap and very, very effective. Also, mine starts by itself too, just takes about 10mins or so to get all the air out of the system. Good luck with your decision.
sharn
i like my jebao cause its powerful, quiet, easy to start, easy to pull apart and has four baskets. it runs quietly, you have to put your ear near it to hear the quiet hum. the only downside for me is the spray bar isnt that long, only around a foot or so so ill need to make up my own. getting the air out is a matter of just tipping it a bit to the side and back a few times. bummer deep blue- shoulda bought it a few weeks later hehe (i was the one that recently bought one) but i like to choose my own media, alot come with carbon which i have no need for. its a good price too for the 1200lph bracket
jim r
Which one did you buy Evil and how has it performed?
evilknieval69
Ended up buying a Jebao 304 (note JEBAO not JEBO) and it has been beautiful ever since. It is sitting dry at the moment, as it is in between tanks. Id reccomend one too anyone, but if i were to get another canister id probably go for Aqua one next....
