PENEJANE
Yeah I know amazonian. I am hoping that out of luck that I can keep them in their own tank for a while and maybe start selling them at about 4 months old. That way people can watch their fins develop some more and know that they still have a fish young enough to spawn with unlike most LFS their bettas are often to old to spawn well. I am hoping to keep the female seperate from any males now so then she won't produce eggs and get fat and die . So tomorrow I am getting another heater and she will be in her own wee tank and hope that she won't get egg bound and die. Cheers
PENEJANE
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y116/p ... G_0016.jpg Well thats them in just over a month old. I know its not a great pic and it is only viewing the front half of the tank as the thick mass of java moss was in the way and I didn't want to pull it out incase any bubbas got caught up in it. They are my first spawn of bettas as my CT fry is still to small to view. Still plenty there hehe so I am buzzing. I have had a very very small loss but that has stoped and come right again so things are good I will keep yous all updated as things progress. Some are starting to get red colour in their fins and its getting brighter and brighter every day. Cheers PeneJane
AMAZONIAN
Good on you Penejane You have got a goodly amount of fry. I wont bet on it but looks in excess of 80. I would suggest you get them onto a lot more Brine shrimp as at one month they should be a bit bigger than they appear. But good luck... PENEJANE
Thanks Amazonian. With the brine shrimp are you meaning the ones that I have to hatch (but can't afford any at this stage) or the pre frozen ones that you can buy? I have been feeding them microworms mainly but lately been giving them finely crushed flake which they enjoy just the same. :bounce:
AMAZONIAN
Hi Pene Yes I mean the ones you have to buy. Microworms are alright but they dont have the nutritional value of the BS. Finely powdered flake is also ok once in a while, as is pure FISH MEAL if you can get it. I'll post a piccy or two of my Betta's that are now six and half weeks old so you can see what I mean. Keep up the good work

Ktttk
Nice pic there of the youngersters! Could you post a pic of the parents? I'm guessing that one of them is a cambodian red?
PENEJANE
well unfortunatly I can't afford the $24 for a small little container of brine shrimp eggs Is there anything else I can give them? I am thinking it might be time to move them onto a bigger tank to give them more space to grow out in. As that tank is only a 19ltr tank lol not much living space when you count all that fry there. Mine are starting to look the same with the red starting to show in the tail and bottom fin but I am guessing most of mine to be red. Let me know how I can do this. I have seen frozen daphnia down at our LFS but it is expensive. Would this be ok? Cheers
