Wok
Ok... after many many months of convicts not getting into mischief, I had finally decided to drop the temp from 28 deg C to 25 deg C and now the convicts are horny as... saw my first batch of eggs last night and they were still there this morning. now the wait..... who will eat the fry? Jags Port Hoplos GBA Chocolate Cichlid or other Convicts.

Wok
as I said...I had to reduce my temp to 24 deg C before anything happened. even one of my juvenile Jags is showing signs of wanting to do the wild thing and sulking in a cave (cup) Prior to the lowering of the temp... nothing
alanmin4304
Your next problem will be stopping them breeding
Wok
stopping them breeding should be easy. Raise the temp back up to 28 or she goes to a convent tank

Wok
just saw another 2 convicts had paired up and are in the process of making a nursery at the other end of the tank.... ...Hmmmm... starting to think that I may need to set up some spare tanks as a foster home.
Faran
Uh oh.... now you've gotten them going.... gonna be hard to get them to stop! The other day I was at Animates and saw a pair of convicts (presumably added to the tank as live food) who were guarding/raising fry. Made us chuckle a bit and coin the old phrase "just add water". Congrats on the spawnings!!!
alanmin4304
They are no easy to sell or give away but make good live food.
