He has 3 eight inch oscars, one has got hole in the head disease. its very minor and hasn't really got any worse but is not getting better either! tested water and nitrate level was high so he did a slightly larger water change than normal and cut back on the food. any help would be apprieciated. I did a search on this on google, put in hole in the head and it will bring up all the info you need to know, aquariumfish.net, I think was the site I was on. Good Luck to ya Dad. alanmin4304 Posted January 8, 2006 Report Share Posted January 8, 2006 Hole in the head is caused by a parasite and is usually treated with metronidazole (flagyl --used to treat parasitic diseases of the gut in humans--like Amoebiasis) 50mg/4litres and do a water change after 2 days.
