bruce_see
Hi guys, I am Bruce from Napier. I got into this by accident when my wife bought an existing 10 litre tank setup, complete with fish. Within 24 hours, the neon tetra expired, so we replaced it with a zebra. A couple of days later that expired as well so we went back to the LFS and asked for help/info...the advice was to "strip the tank and clean EVERYTHING and refill with fresh water and use this Cycle and some of this salt"...we did this and all the fish survived...added another zebra, that thrived...did a partial water change, still looking good...went crazy and got a 72 litre tank with all the trimmings (starting to sound familiar?) and after allowing time for things to settle down in the new tank, swapped the fish over and bought two new platties. (Kept the old tank as well, of course...destined to become breeding tank further down the track) The fishies in our care at the moment are a suckerfish, a clown loach, three platties (two blue, one orange), one zebra, and one (blush) unidentified which is orange in front half, black in rear half, a little shorter than the zebra and swims with the zebra generally. We love our new tank and our fish. I work with disabled adults and it is so soothing and relaxing to come home from a full-on shift and sit and watch our fish swim... And to round off, we really appreciate our local fish-shop for their helpful and enthusiastic advice. It's just a shame I can't tell you the name, as that would probably be against the rules. All the best for the New Year, guys!
