A cottony growth like that is usually the result of fungus growing as a secondary infection so I suspect he has damaged the fin. If it stays like that, or improves, I would leave it alone, otherwise isolate (cheaper to treat that way) and treat with a fungal med.

Well i just got home from work and it was gone :o , id still like to Q the fish just in case of infection but i cant figer out which one it was. Thanks for all yor responses, and if the "thing" grows back caryl, your more than welcome to borrow him to keep ya female swords happy :wink::o (if you have female swords)
