Thats the rub isn't it? It means someone has to have already broken the law in the first place so they don't need to break the law doing exactly the same thing going foward? Illegal for importation not for possession as it has been explained to me. Or i'll cop a plea by offering them the name of the importer who sold it to me to reduce my sentance, and claim ignorance about not knowing it was ilegal. OR I will say I caught it fishing up north, its listed as a Coastal Fish for NZ waters and has a rating of UNCOMMON. So they are about anyway. Being able to submit some species later isn't an excuse to do nothing now. It is intended to only add species accidentally missed or species that are currently difficult to identify. I have 3 but don't have a fish reference book to quote page and ISBN number.
