reef
Big saving $40??, cost about $40 to drive to town. I am sure if you ordered 4 from Hollywood they will do a discount.

suphew
The shops have never held decent book's, the internet and direct ordering didn't cause this. Maybe it's because a good book will tell you that you dont have to buy all the rubish chemicals and additives that they love to sell?? chimera
Big saving $40??, cost about $40 to drive to town are you not contradicting yourself here? so its going to cost $140 from hollywood - if i was to drive there... at $60 a book through amazon thats shipped to my door. $60 from amazon, $100 from hff, that is a HUGE discount. Brianemone
if the reason is that im not prepared to throw away my money then fine, i never even wondered about why they didnt have books as ive always thought of them as a place to buy live stock and equiptment not books
reef
$60 from amazon, $100 from hff, that is a HUGE discount. If you are on a low income then it could be.also you could have the book within a day, instead of waiting 3-4 weeks. It depend how you perceive value. In todays terms $40 is nothing. chimera
In todays terms $40 is nothing cool. in that case, if you're selling your softback for $40, then you'll give it to me for free because "$40 is nothing"

Ira
When you planning another order from Marine depot, Chim? You're good at organizing this stuff.
chimera
When you planning another order from Marine depotprobably not for a while, no need for me personally - and a 2nd kid plus rennovations rocks the bank account a bit
Brianemone
i'd rather pay for a kid than a reef tank anyday (untill they are teenagers anyway)
wasp
Give it time Brian, you'll wise up   Actually that was just a joke, but to me, the two are compatible. All kids love marine tanks, and all my kids have grown up to be fisho's, and have partners who share the interest also. I've only got one at home now and he has finally converted his fresh water system to marine. Much of this to my wifes dismay though I should add
Ira
i'd rather pay for a kid than a reef tank anyday (untill they are teenagers anyway) I'd rather pay for a reef tank than a kid any day. What do they say the average kid costs over a lifetime? $700,000? That would build an AWESOME reef tank!
Brianemone
cant see that, no-one would be able to afford kids if it cost that much. 4 kids costing 700,000 each, totaling 2.8 million. in 20 years the average Nz'er would earn 800000. maybe they are taking into account the moocher's that live with their mums untill they are thirty. cookie extreme
the average of raising a kid is $180000.00 in 18 years! still a lot of ^%$& money one could spend on a reef (tank that is! not the importer) . but who am i to talk with number two on its way (the last one that is, gonna see the doc soon )
