Doc Holiday Posted June 28, 2005 Author Report Share Posted June 28, 2005 If I was building the tank from scratch then I would definately consider it, I have seen this done before using 19mm toughened glass and i think it is a great Idea. But as my tank is incased in a resin frame including braces this is not an option. Pies mentions using a 40mm drain hole, would this not be the same as having 2 20mm holes?? and wouldn't it be easier to hide two smaller overflows compared to one larger one?? I was considering a straight acrylic panel across each of the back corners as opposed to the regular square overflows making them more unnoticeable. suphew Posted June 28, 2005 Report Share Posted June 28, 2005 Haha no 2x20mm arent the same as 1x40mm, cant remember the formula, but it is something squared, so as you go twice the size you get 4 times the area or volume of water through the hole.
