overflows for 5' tank

If I was building the tank from scratch then I would definately consider it, I have seen this done before using 19mm toughened glass and i think it is a great Idea. But as my tank is incased in a resin frame including braces this is not an option.

Pies mentions using a 40mm drain hole, would this not be the same as having 2 20mm holes?? and wouldn't it be easier to hide two smaller overflows compared to one larger one??

I was considering a straight acrylic panel across each of the back corners as opposed to the regular square overflows making them more unnoticeable.

ok pies, here's a couple links, i'll try to find the larger tanks that had cutouts. i recall the link showing the tanks in the factory, and had just been made.
